crank up his setlist. I've seen him twice solo since the VH breakup, and he has chosen to play only a handful of Halen tunes. "Top of the World", "Finish", "WCTBL", "Dreams" and "Right Now" are the only ones I've seen documented. With Dave likely to bring the house down with almost an EXCLUSIVE VH catalogue, I think Ole Sam with have Vic and Mona crankin' out some new stuff. He'll be pressured to.
"Poundcake", "Summer Nights", "Best of Both Worlds", and "Don't Tell Me" are a few I can think of that need to be dusted off. But Sam's voice a'int what it used to be. He can't rip these tunes off like the ole days. I remember "Dreams" on the Balance tour. He and Mikey alternated the "Higher!"s, and he sung a majority of the song real low. I think the acoustic version of "Right Now" was another example of playing it safe, as was "Finish" being almost totally acoustic until the end. On the last tour, Mona and Jessee Harms both sang a verse in "Heavy Metal". Sam passes it off as playing around, but I think he's conserving his voice.
Cracnk it up Sam! Let's hear the heavy shit!
