O.K., who's the golfers out there? I worked as an assistant pro at a course where I live and am now in the internet tee time biz. Anybody catch Eds charity thing in Reno? I would always practice putting listening to old vh in the headphones.

I like to play a little bit, although I'm not very good I usually shoot between 100-110. Are you guys talking about when Ed played in the Bob Hope Classic a few years back? I watched that Ed was in Bob Hope's group and I think former president Gerald Ford was in that group as well. Ed was terrible he kept hitting grounder after grounder. Anyone see Tiger this weekend? Another week another win. Big Greg Norman fan, I'd love to see THE SHARK finally get that green jacket this year. It's getting warmer almost time to put the sticks out and tee it up high and let it fly!

I think it was ed's very own charity gig in Reno and yes I think around 96'. I am with you on Sharky getting a jacket but my MONEY would go on the kid dog.

My best score is an 88. I've got a nice set of Big Bertha copies. What I need are some VH golf balls.

I love chasing the little white ball! I've been playing for about A year and a half now. I have to take call every third weekend at the hospital so thats pretty much the only weekend I ain't playin' or at the driving range, and sometimes I play anyway! When I started I had squat, no clubs, balls, tees, clues, anything. Now I have a descent set of Wilson Pro Staffs. I play a Taylor Made Tour Burner driver and 3 wood. I don't carry anything else in the way of woods because I have learned how to control my 3 iron pretty well, and can hit it off the fairway further than I can a five s oI just don't play one. Last January I played a nice course outside of Tulsa and shot a 117 on it. I played it this last weekend and shot an 87! Not shabby taking 20 strokes off my game in 14 months! Anyway I know my 87 sucks but I'm still learning!

I'm one of the newer members here in vhlinks.com and yes I'm a golfer! I just don't get to play as much as I used to. I kinda wish Norman would win the MASTERS to I saw him there in 96 in front of the rope blocking the golf fans http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif . Also do any of you know where I can find some VH golf balls they'd go great in my collection.

Wes, check ebay from time to time. I saw a VH golf visor for like 4 bucks or something. And I am kinda 5150 in a golf cart, but have never seen a 5150 golf cart. cool. That is a fantastic improvement HOME! good job. When I was playing all the time, I was about a 4-6 handicap, but right now, you and I would probably have a pretty competitive round. Keep it up! Curious about that charity thing POJO, I know it happened, it'd be great if you find something on it.

Hey, who watched the Ryder Cup last year? Was that not the greatest comeback of all time! I remember drinking a few Coronas and getting all jerked up as the U.S. team won match after match, and then when Justin made that putt to seal the victory oh man! I was pumped! I was calling everybody and yelling U.S.A.! U.S.A.!

Interesting that you bring that up woody, the internet tee time comp. that I work for just signed with ALL of the myrtle beach courses (140 something). I will probably be there for about 2 months this summer getting them set up at the golf course end, and then you can book your times via the net at www.greens.com (http://www.greens.com) by the end of summer http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/cool.gif

As a matter of fact, I've got a VHS tape somewhere of Eddie when he played in the Bob Hope Desert Classic some years ago. He was in a group with Mr.Hope, and Fuzzy Zoeller. I'm on my way out the door now to go and hit a bucket or two at a local range. Spring can't come quick enough here in Virginia. (I have to give a hat's off to Myrtle Beach golf, it's awesome).

Maybe ed's charity thing was during the practice rounds of the desert classic that year? I don't know, but it was sponserd in part by the hard rock.

I golfed a lot when I was a kid, but these days it's probably about twice a year. If I break 100 I consider it a good day. The best I ever shot for 18 holes was 87. I've only recently relaxed and allowed myself to enjoy the game even if I'm playing shitty. Great sport.

I'm not upset that Hal Sutton won the TPC this week because Hal is cool and if it were'nt for his 3 1/2 points in the Ryder Cup the U.S. wouldn't have won. Tiger will win that event some day I'm sure.

Panama dog, I apologize about not getting back here sooner. You know the dad thing and all, I've been coming across a lot of posts I forgot I did before the heartattack and all. To answer your question, yes I can drive the hell out of the ball. I don't hit it 300 yards consistently, because my back and shoulders are so wide, its hard to get a good turn on the ball. I have to really focus on my hips and my butt in order to control my shot. With my irons though, I don't have to concentrate so hard. I can hit a 3 iron about 250 off the fairway. If I'm within 130 of the hole, I really have to think about using my pitching wedge. While this is great for my iron game, it sucks teeing up, and it sucks trying to chip from 25 yards and under. I can play a good bump and run with a nine iron, and I end up teeing up my 3 iron off the box a lot. If the hole has a lot of shit around the fairway and dogleggs and I really need control, I tee it up. If its realitvely straight, I bust out my Taylor Made Tour Burner and pound the shit out of it. It is big time fun though and thats the important thing. I just kick back, have a can of Skoal, pop open a beer or two, and generally be unhealthy for the afternoon!

No problem House, How is your pops doing? 250 with a 3 iron, Jesus, I'm a pretty big guy myself and I can barely hit 250 off the tee with my driver. My back and shoulder have been in terrible shape for quite a few years now but I'm feeling a lot stronger this year and I'm looking to rip it again.

Yeah Seen, I've been following it. I don't know I just can't seem to find it in my heart to root for any of these guys that are on the leaderboard. I guess if I had to choose I would like to see David Duval win because I think he has gotten a bad rap for no apparent reason, he's just not a great speaker. Side note, played my first 18 of the year, shot a 99, which is great for me, and I had a 5 putt, a 4 putt and many 3 putts. I wanted to throw my putter across the course today. I did, however, knock one stiff on a 175 yrd par three today to about three feet for bird and made it so I can't be too unhappy.

04.08.00, 10:03 PM
right on Dog! I just freakin love this game. I on the other hand would like to see anybody on that leader board win, especially Nick Price. I agree with you on Duvall, I think he is pretty damn cool myself but your right about the part that he does not speak well.
On a little side note,I got the opportunity to play the Palmer private course at PGA west this last winter where Duvall shot a 59 last year. I was able to manage an 80 and what a fantastic experience that was.
I can't wait for the final 9 on Sundayhttp://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/cool.gif

Vijay Singh is your Masters Champion. Not a very exciting Masters if you ask me. The Shark made the top 16 so he will be back next year. If he didn't shoot an 80 in the first round he would have been right in it, Dammit, oh well, hopefully he can put it all together next year.
