I don't think there is THAT much effort so far...they've gone into the studio - taken some pictures and released some web stuff. Don't get me wrong - it's freaking awesome - and MILES ahead of what VH has done in recent/not so recent time (excluding their press conference w/ DLR of course).

What intrigues me (beyond how great this sounds) is what is going to happen when this thing launches.

All I DO know for certain is that day 1 = me in line to buy this CD.

After all the years I spent in radio, I became jaded about "hyped" supergroups and releases. This is the first time in years, I have been this excited about buying a CD.

I've also noticed an increase in Satch being played on SIRIUS' BoneYard. I've just listened passively in the past. But, with CF coming, I've been paying more attention. WOW...I had no idea how much Satch wails.

I was just sitting here ruminating on the fact that that brief teaser video clip montage and blurb of new tuneage was more promotional and fan-friendly than two years of VH 4. :rolleyes:

I'm curious if Satch was the guy that Sammy talked about back in 2007 when he was talking about doing an '08 tour and having a 'shredder' tour with the Wabo's. I think Sam was talking about doing an more or less an all Sammy tour at the time that would celebrate his entire catalog. Seems like I only read something about it once. I can't remember if that was going to be the 60th tour and it turned into the short lived small venue tour or if it was supposed to be after that.

I'm sure the on and off VH tour kind of kept Sammy from doing a major tour for almost 3 years now. Sam couldn't do anything major as long as VH was on the road. Anyway looks like it has worked out for the best and we are going to get a great new rock album.

Off topic but ......... I'm not a particularly emotional chap but that youtube video of funtwo playing Pachelbel in his bedroom actually made me cry. Perhaps any guitarist can relate to that. Sat on the bed, putting in the hours, perhaps an inarticulate teen etc.

Satch shows his class in this vid. Playing rhythm while the kid wails. No ego on that Satch character, he is a true musician and I really think that this chickenfoot cd is going to be good news for rock fans.
