If you're not a fan of Sam and the Wabos, move along...there is nothing to see here. This thread is, in part, Van Halen related, but even I will admit that is a bit of a stretch.

I'm not fond of the verbal jabs Sam seemed to take at Ed recently, though I hung on most of his interviews for anything I could learn about the band.
Having said that, I'm not against Sam's tequilla "pimping" or his empire as such. For the most part, I kind of dig the whole "on the beach groove" he has created. It must be the Midwesterner in me craving lazy sunny days on the beach with my VH (or Sam) crankin'. So, what I'm getting at is I'd like to create a new setlist for Sam and the Wabos...he does a good job of mixin' it up, but I think it would be cool to go see the follong concert.

Cabo Wabo
Take Me Back (Deja Vu')
Mas Tequilla
Baby's On Fire
Feels So Good
Cruisin' and Boozin'
Top of the World
The Girl Gets Around
Rock Candy
Back Into You
Best of Both Worlds
Tropic of Capricorn
Red Voodoo
Your Love is Driving Me Crazy
Bad Motor Scooter
Once Upon Returning Home
5150

Encore
Not for Sale
Summer Nights

2nd Encore
One Way to Rock
Heavy Metal

If I went to the above show, I'd be pretty damn pumped.

It's not just the midwest, bud. I live in SoCal, and the beach bum bit's never bothered me in the slightest. If Sam wants to do the Mike Love ala Montrose dog and pony show, more power to him. I like tequila. So it's all good to me.

I'll add my own wishlist set...heavy on the Sam era Halen, for obvious reasons. I mean, I understand the need for the Wabos to do their own spiel, but facts is facts...split it half and half. This current 20% per gig ain't enough. 50-50, solo vs. Halen. Rawk the house.

Cabo Wabo (why in hell isn't he playing this every time out anyway, duh)

Dan and Squal...yea, Things've Changed goes along well with the vibe.

I really dig karma wheel too...it doesn't jive with the vibe, but I dig it!

Your setlist is cool too, I am glad I am not the only one that loves Back Into You.:thumb: Once Upon Returning Home is a great song too. I have always wanted to see Feels So Good live, it is one of my all-time favorite songs.

I would love to hear "Bad Reputation" & "Trans Am" thrown in the set somewhere.
