There were a few VH shirts in the crowd...I was having flashbacks to the VH3 show I saw here, which had a small turnout...my wife, who is very neutral, said that Sammy is like a tequila salesman- and that his whole show is marketed that way...I asked her if she posts on DLR Army, to which she said "no." She said he should stick more to just playing the songs.

Sammy's band stuck around to watch the Montrose set. All in all it was a lot of fun and interesting to see the show from the stage.

In a 2 week period I have got to see/meet DLR, and now Sammy!

I like the Cabo stuff. :D Cabo San Lucas is a bitchin' town. The tequila's quality agave. And I dig hitting the beach, and I don't particularly mind scoping out scantily clad women. I'm funny like that.

Van Squalen...I would love to visit Cabo myself. I also wish Sammy could return to being the red rocker instead of the tequila rocker! Man, the Sammy i saw in the late 70's and early 80's was the true red rocker!

I can only speak for myself, but personally I've never been into Sammy's solo career (Dave's either for that matter). I live in S. Florida and go to the beach about as infrequently as I can, so I'm not much into the beach party thing either. I'm also strictly a Bud guy. For those that like Sammy though and think it's a fun concept, I don't see any harm.

I am glad though that they kept that stuff away from last year's tour and hopefully will again from any future VH shows.

See, I sorta like the fact he's moved away from the Red Rocker 55 Ferrari Detroit stuff. I like the beach bum drifter bit, but then again, I can relate. As long as his marketing empire doesn't interfere with his music, and to date I've seen little impact of that other than a few keyed-to-subject songs, what's the big whoop?

I'm a huge Dave fan too and as they are both part of the VH legacy I'm as happy to read this as I am to read the Dave news threads. However, I'd be pissed if Cherone news was in main... :p :D

you may be right..actually we were in the lower left corner as you face the stage, behind a palm tree and above the bikini station.. I was enjoying the show from my vantage point- but no I wasn't dancing/ throwing beads/ screaming etc.- but I was enjoying it- interacting w the band, looking at the equipment/setlists/techs (Duggie (sp?)), etc....Montrose kept walking around on our side, etc...
