I just bought the latest Nickelback CD which was released today (no comments about my musical tastes please - lol). At any rate, I always read the liner notes to see who the band thanks and whatnot. And to my surprise, what did I see? Chad Kroeger personally thanked Sammy Hagar and the Cabo Wabo cantina "for all the inspiration." I thought that was kind of cool.

I scanned the liner notes & uploaded the image so you guys could see for yourself.

For Dimebag Darrell's solo on "Side of a bullet"...now that is interesting!

How does that sound?

It sounds excellent. When I heard the song, I seriously thought, "Who the hell is playing? That sounds a little like Eddie. It sure ain't Nickelback." Then when I read the liner notes, I found out it was a Dimebag solo. It fits really well too. They obviously put it into a heavier song that Nickelback would normally play.

I just bought that song on iTunes ... and it rocks! Definitely a first for Nickelback.

They contacted Vinnie Paul after Dime's death and wanted him to send them some of Dime's work that didn't make it on record with Pantera... so Vinnie sent them a shit load and they went through all the solos and found one to work for the song... which is about Dime's death.
