Sammy was featured last night on EXTRA. Anyone else catch it?
They talked about the Cruise and Sam's excercise routine (he claims that he runs everyday) and his approach to being almost 60.
Nothing about new tour except for the mention that he is doing a tour called "Livin' it Up" this summer but made no mention of Mike touring with him.

Yeah and if Eddie is like I read he is he was probably too drunk to join Sammy for the run. Poor Eddie, he seems like he's been a mess for quite a long time.

If you're responding to my post, I'm a woman not a dude. If you weren't than I apologize for bothering you. I don't mean to come off like a bitch. Also, if you were responding to my post by saying that you think Eddie probably has a pretty good life, I have to disagree. I cannot think of anything right now that could possibly be positive in his life except for his 15 year old son whom it's rumored that he adores, and all the money he has. It can't be fun to be a musical prodigy and have a raging drinking problem at the same time. I was reading a quote in some magazine a while back from Eddie and he said with Valerie it was love at first sight. That made me think that he has strong feelings for her still and he's lost her too. Now if you were not responding to my post then I assume you were saying that Sammy has a good life and I would very much agree with you there. He comes off like the happiest man on the planet.

It's possible for Sammy to run every day and still have a little flab on him. Our football coach used to run 2-3 miles every day before practice and he always had a gut on him. That happens when you get older.

I saw Sammy in Tahoe last weekend and he does look like he slimmed down....The little bald spot he had a couple of years ago seems to be gone too...........

He works his butt off to put on a good show. I gotta give him credit there..........During the last show he did seem to get a bit winded though so he did alot more talking than usual...........

Alex said that when he joined VH he was always encouraging the other guys in the band to go to the gym and work out and try to feel as good as possible. Sammy looks heavier at times then others but I have to think that the man's in good physical shape to be his age and run rampantly all over the stage the way he does. People need to understand that Sammy is a rather short man and short people look heavier as they get older. The way some people talk about his weight you'd think that he looks like the actor John Goodman. I think that what also helps him stay in shape is that he doesn't smoke cigarettes and speaks vehemently against tobacco use. I remember reading that when VH were still together he would ride in a separate limo from Eddie and Alex because he could not stand the smoke.

Sammys fitness ways go way back...he tried to be a boxer before he got into music. I remember interviews on mtv after ou812 came out where Ed was talking about going to the gym with Sam and feeling better physically.
Sammys just got it all together.....I cant remember too many other singers who could strap on a guitar and sprint around the stage while singing and never miss a beat. Most singers get winded after one song of running around.

LOL, yeah but he seems to have no problem at all with the wacky tobacky which is said to be much worse to smoke than cigarettes.

I read an interview with Sammy once where he said he smokes pot about maybe only twice a year because it makes him act too goofy and he can't stop laughing.

I disagree with you. Sammy could actually be a role model for health even though you do not seem to agree. How many men his age do you know that can do what he does? Sammy is simply incredible for a man his age as far as health and working out is concerned and running like crazy all over the stage. Eddie Van Halen is quite a bit younger than Sammy and there's no way on God's green earth that Eddie could do what Sammy does. I know that some people out there consider Sammy an alcoholic because he has his own brand of Tequila and that's simply not true. By Sammy's own admission he does not have a drinking problem. He has said a few times before that his dad was a serious drunk and use to beat his mother up. Sammy said that turned him off of drinking. Then he said that when he would drink he would be extremely careful not go overboard because of the way his dad was.

I agree he is in better shape than most guys his age and he puts on as good of a show as he did 20 years ago. He is too smart to let drinking or drugs get in the way of what he loves to do. Alot of his rap is just pure salesmanship and entertainment ... He takes alot of pride in putting on a good show .

Role model is pushing it though. Just my opinion...His weight has constantly gone up and down..He went to a fat camp before the Balance tour..He was heavy around the Street Machine time also..When I saw him last year he was pretty much pudgy.(He looks slim this year)...He pushes tequila, smoking weed and mexican food, come on now....Dont think many doctors or nutritionists are going to buy into that one...

Also, his hair and teeth modifications help him look younger also..

Hagar a role model? Far from it junior! This is why he "Pretends" during any show, to give you, the fan, an illusion. He promotes it, but says he shuns it's use? Get real! Sambo wants you to have that party vibe so you can fill his bank account.
