I just tried to quote a post and only got half the post......so I copied and pasted

Not sure how to explain this clearly, but I've found that when you quote a post that contains a quote already, sometimes it quotes the whole post (including the initial quote) and sometimes it doesn't.

Shit, that's vague. Here's an example.

Top Timmy says "VH is cool"

Brett quotes Tim's post, so Brett's post shows Tim's quote, then Brett's response that says "I agree"

Now, sometimes when I would click to "quote" Brett's post, it would bring up the whole thing with both Tim's original statement and Brett's response. But other times it would only bring up Brett's statement.

Does that make sense? smilies/redface.gif

Apparently that's not a bug that's a browser issue. It's also not a browser issue that can be fixed either, it's just the way they work. smilies/frown.gif

I've had the same problem, Glenn. It's when people get lazy and type within a quote. If they break up the quotes and their comments, you get all of their text when you quote them. It just cuts out anything previously quoted.

I just finished quoting MikeL's post from 7.06 pm in the "Working on BOV2" thread.

When I quoted it, it brought up nothing but Mike's last comments, starting with "I think it would be good for business". Mike's first comments, which he made between two seperate quotes of mine, didn't appear at all when I quoted him. smilies/confused.gif

It's all easy to take care of, though, once you realize how easy it is to just type in the [quote] stuff yourself. I've finally learned. smilies/smile.gif
