Anyway, do we have any poker players out there? I'm into Texas Hold'em hard and heavy. Been playing at pokerroom.com alot lately. You can play with fake money or real. I thought i'd start a thread so if anyone would like to sign up there(it's free), or already has, we could let eachother know here in this thread when it's "game on". A little VHLinks poker? Aw hell yeah!

My user name there is Spanklin. I can usually be found at the $10/$25 No Limit(Free Play) tables, but every once in awhile i hop over and play for the green.

Seriously, though... I just can't get into this online poker shit. I could sit at a real poker table and play for 3 nights straight without any sleep, but this online stuff just doesn't do it for me.

Yea, I've tried the online thing and just can't get into it, I tried partypoker.com

But if I sit down at a table, I'd play forever. I think too much of the human aspect is lost online.

I love playing Texas Hold 'Em. Sometimes I play online, but prefer real games.

i dont really know why but poker is HUGE right now.....me and my friends play holdem on all weekens pretty much. i play online at party poker.com, there is also party poker.net which is advertised on tv. i dont get what the difference between them is.....

I'm just getting into Texas Hold 'Em, having played a lot of "regular" (?) poker, and it's hard to adjust at first. Still, I love poker. I often play it with friends. I've downloaded a few computer poker programs but it's not quite the same.

I play at Hollywoodpoker.com but I'll have to check out the onther sites as well. It's great fun, it was weird at first not being face to face with the other players but I've found that if you stay at 1 table for a while you can really start to read the other players. It's still not the same but great fun non the less

I've been playing Texas Hold 'em for a little over 3 yrs. now. I don't play online though, just doesn't do anything for me. I have to play with people there, reading people is such a big part of the game and obviously you can't do that online.

It's getting pretty bad now. Started out just playing on Friday nights, now it's turning into every Friday and Saturday. This weekend it'll be all 3 days. I even have some friends who want to have a weekday game. Used to be just the same ol' 5 or 6 dudes, now some nights we'll have up to 20 people playing (chicks included) http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/images/icons/icon14.gif.

We just pay anywhere from $20 to $40 (depends on how we feel that night) and get about $200 worth of chips. You're not playing for the value of the chips at the end of the night, you're just playing for the pot from everybody's entry fee. We'll usually pay out top 3 (depends on the number of players). If we have 5 to 6 players we'll pay out to the top 2. If we have 7 to 10 players we'll pay out to the top 3. If we have 11 or more we'll pay out to top 4 players. We try to give the winner most of the money. If we're paying out to the top 3, 3rd place will get their money back, 2nd place will get double their money back and the winner will get the rest. Blinds usually double every 45 minutes.

We also play a second game of winner takes all but that's just usually a $10 buy in and blinds raising every 10 minutes. Most of the time we're not finishing until 6 or 7 in the morning.......I think we might be addicts.

I'm almost confident enough to go down to one of the casino's here in Detroit and try playing with the big dogs.

I know the feeling. :D While it's true that it's wayyy better to play live, i can still get a read on peoples betting habits online if they stay in the game long enough. Besides, i can never find any live action in these parts so i'm left to playing online until about 5 am.

Gonna make a trip up to the Niagra Falls Casino at the end of the month, then i want to hit Atlantic City sometime this summer. I'd love to have $10,000 laying around that i could use for the WS of Poker. That'd be the shit playing against some of the big guns.

Walgreens sells a "Texas Hold Em" set which is nothing more than cards and chips...every amateur and their brother are buying their own sets...There was money to be made there...silly ass (I'm talking to myself)

Tuesday night, 8pm is fine with me, consider me signed up. I'm Pacific too. The tables seat ten players, I think. Could set up more than one table if more folks are interested.

Has anyone else signed up at Pokerroom.com yet? Deposited $100 about two weeks ago and have been playing on it since. Won a few tourneys to take my account up to $800 but have been on a bit of a slide as of late. Four hours of sleep a day is taking its toll though. Help, I'm addicted. :D

I'll be playing in a $5/.50 tourney tonight around midnight(they usually run every 30 minutes 24/7). There are usually about 300 people that enter and it pays top 20. First place is usually around $550 down to about $19 for 20th. A cheap way to win some nice cash.
