That stage looks like something Celine Dion would use.

I remember how that huge curtain in '84 and wondering what was coming up at the start of the show. I was so excited. And then the lights went down and you saw this . . . awesome. I haven't seen a stage that great since.

Yeah, I remember thinking the same thing. I remember the Velcros opening up the show and getting a postage-stamp sized part of the stage to work with. By contrast, when VH came out and the lights went on, that stage seemed like a mile in length.

1984 was their best stage setup by a mile, with Dave or Sam. Worst for me was FUCK, I can't even remember what it was it's so un-noteworthy. That being said though my first tour was Diver Down, so some on the first four tours could have been bad.

Now my curiousity has been peaked, does anyone have the FUCK stage setup, went to the show and I can't even remember it!

FUCK was pretty much all amphitheatres though, right? You just can't put as impressive a stage setup as you can in an arena.

I saw F.U.C.K. in an area.. come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen VH at an outdoor shed, except for Arrowhead on the MOR tour.

Yeah and we could then take Dave into the future and see what would happen to the band and his own career when he quit, kind of like Van Halen's version of "Its a Wonderful Life".:D

Acutely aware of that. In 1984:

I was young:)
I was Skinny;)
VH was the biggest Rock band in the land:headbang:

In 2007:

I'm "Young at Heart":wtf:
I'm on a f*&%^&g diet:mad:
VH is a nostalgia act (albeit one I want to see)

That being said, I'm never into reliving the past. Today is all I can handle. But I'm glad to have the memories of 1984.

back in high school, my band back then stole a bunch of milk crates from a grocery store and tried to recreate that "Van Halen stage look" with the crates and aluminum foil:headbang:

What amazed me too about the stage too was that above the light show there were tons of speakers. Kinda like the same thing from the EEAS tour:

I remember back in 86 thinking that Dave got the cool stage in the divorce. I can remember going to see 5150 in April and thinking "where's all the speakers" then seeing the "Yankee Rose" video a couple of months later and going " oh . THERE they are!"

With the way that Van Halen is doing things now, I feel older and fatter.

If only they could have done things the right way, I could have had more vigor and a touch more spring in my step.

I'm pretty sure most of them are dummy cabs, not even loaded with real speakers.
