What's the deal with Dave towards the end of the tune when he goes C-Comin' Back, Back For More!?????

Was that a glich in the refcording process or designed to sound that way?

Damn, that's eerie. I just finished burning a CD with both WACF and Fair Warning for my brother and I was just checking to make sure it recorded disc at once. So I was listening to Sunday Afternoon cause it flows right into One Foot Out the Door. Good call, I never really noticed that before, but it does sound a bit like it skips, I wonder if they did that on purpose? Unfortunately you don't hear that much about the recording of individual songs back then, which would be cool.

This could probably stay in 101 but I'm going to throw it to the Songs and Albums forum and see if it gets some more attention there.

I noticed the sound, too. I always thought that what you think is a skip is actually one take by Dave being messily covered by another, you know? Like he screwed up the line and they rewound the tape and just spliced the sound badly or something?

Does that make any sense?

I don't think it was a skip and I don't think he stuttered on purpose or by accident. Hell, I don't know period. But it's interesting as to why it was left on the album.

That is exactly what it is Down. In the true Van Halen spirit, fuck it, leave it. We have a tour to do. Out.

Guess you got a point there, t5.

And you've got to love that spirit. I hope they've got it on their new shit. http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gif

I think it is a great song . Real fast and a very heavy solo .
