I wouldn't miss this for the world! I missed the 1998 (with Cherone) Dallas show and I really regret it! I did have a blast at the 2004 show with Sammy. It was my first Van Halen show. Lots of fun. So, I don't want to miss the show and regret it later. I really didn't do the concert thing during the 1st (?) Sammy era and I am too young to have witnessed Classic Van Halen.

So, just to see Dave n Ed n Alex together again and playing the classic hits is enough of a sale for me! To see if any of the old magic is still there! To see what it may have felt like and looked like back then. I'm so there!

Most people who will attend this tour don't even know who Michael Anthony is, nor do they care. You're talking about a very small percentage of people who will go the VH website.

It's much, much easier for me to call up 8 friends in their early-mid 30's who would go to a Van Halen concert with Dave back in the fold and shooting his mouth off, then it would be to find even ONE other person OUTSIDE of this site that gives 2 rips about Michael Anthony.

I'll miss Michael Anthony, but if the other guys are great, it won't matter. Just another version of the band.

I'll be there......I understand why some of you aren't.....I have been waiting for another chance to see CVH......but sometimes you can't get everything you want in life......My 10 year old son has discovered classic rock and he wants to go....so now I have two reasons to go......besides, if I really think about, even if I wanted to get on a high horse and boycott this tour......when David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen are on the same stage together, on 11-29-07, an hour from my house......what am I supposed to do?......sit home and watch TV that night?......I don't think so....

Yes I'd definately go but I doubt that they will never get to Europe. I've seen the band with Dave, Sammy and Gary and I'd go to see this line up too if they ever get even near Finland.

What the at least should do is record every show and sell them via the official site. Or give it away for free... I just saw Metallica here in Helsinki and bought the show afterwards fo 9,95 $. It was a good show and I got a nice memory of it.

...um, let's see:

A. I was lucky enough to have my best friend's brother take us to see the mighty VH in '84 when I was only 13...obviously, the only time I was able to see the ultimate rock-n-roll perfection that was CVH in the year of our God 1984.

B. Being a fan of the BAND first and not really giving three shits about the "revolving-door-lead-singer" plague that has cursed us all, I've been fortunate enough to see the boys in action a total of 33 times, including:

**9 consecutive shows during the F.U.C.K. tour
**the Dallas free show
**road-tripping to Houston TWO DAYS before my wedding day to see the North American debut of VH III, even though I had backstage passes for the next night in Dallas as part of my bachelor party (the ex was NOT too happy about that little stunt...maybe that's why she's the ex?!?)

C. However, I DID miss my one chance at seeing the '04 reunion show in Omaha...my dad's surprise 60th birthday/retirement party was the same night, and I was pretty much guaranteed by my mom of NOT seeing August 1, 2004 if I chose to skip out on my dad's party...then again, according to MOST reports of the '04 reunion, I probably did't miss much...

D. All that being said, I've just GOT to believe that there just aren't that many more tours left in the tank for Edward and the boys, regardless of the incarnation and/or whether or not Wolf has "energized" the band.


...so when all is said and done, IF the tour makes it to the Oct. 25 Kansas City show, HELL-FUCK-YEAH I WILL be there...

I may be repeating some others' opinions on this because I haven't read the whole thread, but I'm still 50/50 on whether I'm going. I don't buy "we're like brothers again" and that they'll be together forever. We got that same crap from them when Sammy came back and look what happened. On one hand, now that Ed has cleaned up, his playing will likely be 10x better than '04. Alex will probably be steady as always, and Roth won't really sing. I bet Wolfie could hold his own on bass, but the background vocals are another story. This will probably be my last chance to see them together so I might just say fuck it and go. I'm definitely not getting any of the VIP packages though. The 4-Star sucked--$120 for a seat in the first 20 rows and a badge? BFD. My passion for VH has faded since Mike got the boot, so I'm not exactly running to get in line for tickets. If the reviews are stellar, I'll probably go.

I agree with Dan Halen. At this point I'd be more excited to go see Sam and Mike. The whole deal minus Mikey really sucks. And the ticket prices sound like they will be outrageous again. Pay hundreds to see a teenage bassist?

I disagree. Of course Mike made the show better. Better than it would have been without him. He certainly was a better performer than Ed was that night. "Doctor" was one of the clear high points of the night, really.

I don't think there is any question about him being damaged from all the partying over the years. He surely seems like a different guy, drunk or sober,than he did ten years ago. Look at Dave for instance, upbeat and funny, while Ed seems very unhappy most of the time. You rarely even see Ed smile anymore and that is a shame. Hopefully, when he gets back up on stage to packed houses with his son, he will start to find whatever it is he seems to be looking for.
