Well we made some changes to the forums today, so here's the lowdown...
1. Set up categories for the entire board, broken down into "VH," "Non-VH," and "Support Forums" categories. These were created so that the board looks a bit more streamlined and organized, as we have a lot of forums now.
2. Added the "Musicians' Corner" forum. This has been suggested for a while now, but I have been reluctant to add it because I didn't want to take away from the "Guitar Room." That forum has a pretty strong following now, so I don't think that will be a problem as all guitar-related discussions will continue to take place there. The new forum is for all of those musicians who aren't guitar players, I realize there are some of those in the world too I guess. http://208.50.7.95/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif
3. Left the "VHL Announcements" forum in the VH category. Yes I know it doesn't belong there and it is not an oversight on my part. I did it so that people could easily see these announcements, and won't have to look at the bottom of the board to find them, where they will inevitably be ignored. At the top, at least people will look in this forum if there are new messages.
4. Renamed the "VH Songs & Albums" forum to " VH Songs/Albums/Videos." Glenn suggested this, and I thought it would be a good idea to encompass all of VH's released media, so I added video to the title.
5. Not really board related, but for those of you that use Internet Explorer 5 or above, Top Timmy created an icon for us that will display on your browser next to the VHL link if you have bookmarked it. I finally got it working, so if you bookmark the site or the board now and are using IE 5, you will get a nice looking "VHL" logo next to the link. I know sites like "Yahoo!" use it, with something like a "Y!". Netscape users cannot see this icon.
Enjoy the new stuff!
