What do ya all think about this? My early education was the Animals and the Beatles and Elvis...and then Led Zeppelin(ex:Lemon Song>>>>>>>which led me to old records by Howlin' Wolf and Robert Johnson and so on...)
I hear ya. I think Eddie is the greatest, but when I stop and think about it, I realize that everyone is the descendant of what came before, so maybe who the greatest is is an unanswerable question. I think Keith Richards is great, but he'll be the first to tell you about his Chuck Berry obsession, or all the other types of musicians who influenced him, including his grandfather. I hate to sound cliche, but it's like one big musical stew, and different flavors come out at different times. And most musicians have alot more to show than you'll ever see on their records.
It fun to read about an artists' influences, and then follow them up and hear what inspired a musician to create.
What was the question again???http://www.vhforums.com/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif
