View Full Version : Mike should write a book.

Now that Mike's been dumped from the band, I think it'd be great for him to write a book.
I'm sure it'd be a hell of a read, not just for the mess the band has been in since 1996, but for the great times when the band was on top of their game.
Also I'd be keen for an insight into what Mike's plans are for the future as far as music is concerned.
No matter what the current situation is with the band, Mike was there when the band was truly on top of the world. Nothing can change that.
I'd love to read about it.
I'd be curious as all hell as well, but we've seen the kind of guy Mike is. He just doesn't sling mud. It took a good chunk of time to spill anything about the turmoil within.
I wouldn't expect the book for at least 20 years or so....if ever.

Yes, he was there in the Beg when they were on top of the heap. Also there when they slowly became a joke.
I actually sent an e-mail to madanthonycafe a week or so ago requesting that Mike write that book. I've heard nothing in response, not that I expected to. Mike is uniquely situated to describe the rise of VH, its lengthy reign at the top, and its self-destruction over the past eleven years. I'd love to read it.
Yeah, I'd read it but I could not pretend that he would know everything, considering that Mike has been minimized and out of the loop for a long time.

Id be willing to bet the ranch there was some kind of buyout prior to the 04 tour (the whole "signing over the VH name" thing), and IN that buyout contract is a clause about forfeiting if there are any books, VH1 specials, etc not authorized by VH.

I would love to read a book about VH from Mikey's point of view. I'm sure he'd have a lot of good stories and some juicy gossip regarding the band, and moreover, I think he would tell it like it is (or was).
But I would also love some new VH music as well. I would really love a box set of unreleased and/or new material as well. I would love for Eddie to play the way he used to (at least 10 years ago). I would love for them to stop releasing 'best of' CD's. I would love some more DVD's of their shows. I would love an updated official VH website. I would love a Behind the Music with VH, or an Unplugged VH show, etc. etc.

That would definitely be a good read! I'd get it!
It would be a tremendous read since he was there from pretty much almost the beginning and his perspective would be more balanced. I think Sammy said after his departure in 1996 that "if Mike ever wrote a book he'd have one hell of a story to tell." Another bonus would be that since Mike is said to be not that much of a drinker but only on the occasion, his memory should be much better than other members if he hasn't killed off many brain cells.

You're right, this would actually be a great book.
I'll tell you who else's perspective I'd love to hear - Valerie. I bet she could tell some fucking doozie's about these guys.
