I think Mike handled it very well and intelligently. He's going to go on with his life knowing that Eddie will eventually call and apologize as part of his recovery process.

I believe the whole mess of the last few months (and a few others from years past) will be cleared up when Eddie gets out of rehab. He screwed up a lot of things and he will have to make peace with his band mates before the band can continue. At this point, I don't care what form VH takes, as long as Eddie cleans up.

I'm sorry, but I am glad Mike is out. He never fit in this band anyway and his contributions are largely over exaggerated. He isn't even a mediocre bass player and he is pretty much a dork. Nice guy and all but he would be better suited in a band like Europe or white lion or some poppy shit like that. Van Halen is a darker blend than his personality. He would make a good janitor:p

All of it. Ed should just play the bass and pre-record it and hire Mike as a back up singer. He really sucks at bass, sorry man but it's the truth. I have met him twice and he is a total dork.

I know he is the fan favorite and all but he is just the fat guy in Van Halen where a bass player should be to me. I look forward to whoever plays bass next. Even Dave recognized that he was not a necessary component for a reunion and was willing to go out with Wolfie on bass and that is saying a lot.

I can honestly say that MA managed to hold onto his job as a bass player in one of the greatest American rock and roll band of all time....alongside of one of the greatest guitar players ever to grace an arena.....and....somehow, despite his failings.... and the last time I saw him, he was being inducted into the Hall of Fame.....and is involved in project called "Chickenfoot", which includes a drummer who knows a thing or two about "good" bass players.....
