Which do you like better.Personally I like Live Without A Net,even though all it is is pretty much 5150.I like RHRN and atleast it had some older stuff but I feel they were a whole lot sharper on Live Without A Net.Plus its a really cool name.

Redfire,I'll have to agree with you on that one. LWAN is a pretty good-no effects capture. I'm sure they remixed the vocals a bit. " Summer Nights" kicks total ass. RHRN is awesome too but it drags on too long even for me. I wasn't too impressed with Ed's solo either. I like what he did on LWAN.

One more note,'The Dream is Over" was killer on RHRN. Too bad they spliced the hell out of it. We got to see Sammy in several different outfits.

I'm a big fan of "Rock n Roll" from LWAN. And you gotta love the intro to "Best of Both Worlds"--that's heavy!

Little bro' its LWAN all the way. 5150 is killer on it. Plus Getup gets the crowd wild live I haven't heard them do that since 1991. Dueling guitars on One Way To Rock is great. Best Of Both Worlds, all of it is cool, except when Sammy sits down and re-rolls the bandanas on his wrist but hey welcome back to the mid 80's! The whole outfit Sammy wears is just too much and the Afro! Not a big fan of RHRN the vid. Love my CD though.

LWAN - I liked it much better! I loved the fact that they are so musically tight and it is SO Live! ( New Halen, CT.) LRHRN had different clips and some video magic edited in there. I liked that tape too but like LWAN better!

I have to throw my hat in LWAN too, RHRN was a lot weaker. I never thought about it before, but it makes sense given that I've always thought 5150 was by far the best album of the Sammy years.

Live Without A Net was the band at it's very best. Not only for their playing but for the spontanaity. They also looked like they were having the time of their lives. RHRN was great but I would take LWAN any day.

Also,5150 rocked hardcore style. So did I Can't Drive 55,that and Best of Both Worlds or Summer Nights are my favorite songs from that concert.

Live without a net for sure!!! They look like they are having sooooo much fun, and I'm sure they are. 5150, the extended solo thingy is great, Rock and Roll, when Ed breaks a string, and switches to the Steinberg. ATBL sounds great with the Steinberg. What bothers me the most wih RHRN is the way the bounce around the clips. The solos and vocals dont even match the video a lot of times.

I was just watching mine and I swear Ed breaks the string in 55 and switches to the steinberg then. The smoke inbetween the strings at the end of the neck is too cool.

Yep he definitely breaks a string on "55," and he has to finish the tune and play "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" on the Steinberger too. Notice how his guitar completely drops out during Sammy's solo in "55," that must be when he switched.

LWAN!
I love the one show shot, not a jumbled bunch a shots over a few nights. RHRN just had cameras jumping around since the band didn't. Plus, FUCK is their wooooorst album.

Glenn, if you notice during Eds solo in LWAN, during 316, they must have edited a good chunk of it, cause in one seen the smoke is there, and another, its gone. I havent seen it in a while, but that part always caught my eye. Its too bad Sammy had a guitar in 55, 'cause it would've been interesting to hear Ed do the solo with a broken string. I know what goes through my mind when it happens to me, and thought Ed got lucky there. I heard the Brain May thing with the broken string, and with LWAN, I thought lets see what he does here... shit, saved by Sammy. It looks as though Sammy was pegged for the solo anyhow, even if Ed didn't break a string. Now if only I got that lucky!

I am a chronic string-breaker too, always live, never in the friggin' studio. And always during a solo. Luckily we have two guitars in our band, so it doesn't look that bad. I would have liked to seen Eddie work through like the "5150" solo with a broken string. Ain't no way.

Everytime I see the solo for 5150 on LWAN, I get goosebumps! Especially Ed and Sam jumping around together at the end of it. Must have rewound that part of the video a million times. But yeah, to see Ed do the whole thing without all the strings... There wouldn't have been as much jumpin around, thats for sure.

I busted a string live 3-4 times, and I blocked my trem, no problems then. Although you should test it first to make sure your trem's hugging your block. A paint stick broken in two works great.
You sure have to think if your soloing and blow a b string though!

Live Without A Net was recorded on 2 nights.Sam said "we'ed like to thank eveyone. We've had two sell-out shows in 2 nights"or something to that extent.

The tuning has never really been a problem on my guitar when I break a string, its just my mind shorts out real bad! It blows you're momentum. I just hold a bent note and look around to see if anyone notices.Like ya say, Unit, hope it aint the b string. The floating trems are the worst.

Whats up with the clothes they're wearin in LWAN?I swear, the must have been on somethin cause no one in their right mind would perform a concert like that.

I've got to say Live without a net by far. My live without a net is so worn out I'm probably going to have to buy a new one soon. This video is so great. I love when Ed has to get in sync with Al on "get up" it shows what great chemistry they have together and the fact that they play the song a little bit faster is cool as well. Also, when Ed starts "best of both worlds" there is just something about the way he played it at that show that kicked ass! Whenever I want to hear "best of both worlds" I pop in LWAN rather that putting 5150 in the cd player. Finally the effort they put into that show was amazing. You look at Ed at the beginning of the show and he is dry, by the end of the show he looks like he dropped about 10 pounds in sweat and is exhausted, Amazing!

Why doesn't someone put it on cd?It would sell an ass load of copies.

For me it's LWAN. The 5150 solo is just awesome. I don't like the professional videos that are shot with the intent to sell. They go back and doctor them up. I like the bootleg in your face raw videos. They capture the live feel a little bit more.

I like LWAN a little better than RHRN . RHRN IMO has too many songs from the F.U.C.K. album .

LWAN has SUMMER NIGHTS http://www.vhforums.com/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif
I even got a PRO Shot video of GOOD ENOUGH from Pittsburgh .

I LOVE Live:RHRN, it's amazing. So is Live Without a Net, but RHRN just pumps me up, and gets me going. Also, the fact that there is more material to work with on RHRN makes it better for me. I just wish they had a Balance era video out, like the Toronto one.

For me it's Live Without a Net. Great energy. My first real extended look at the band, so I am partial to it for that reason.
They seem really tired in Right Here Right Now. Just did not have that typical VH attitude or punch.

Live Without A Net all the way, the only thing that I really like about the RHRN video is Alex drum solo He's smoking on that one.
But LWAN has "5150", "Summer Nights" and this is just me, but "Ain't talkin''bout love" kick ass.
And Eddie's solo is played better, I just only wish they could release it on DVD, and on the extras put the half hour show they did for MTV back in '86.

Definately Live Without a Net. The energy is amazing and Eddie was in top form. RHRN was cool too, but it looked too rehersed and kinda looked like the band was a bit tired.

Live Without A Net, by far! You can see they're really enjoyin' themselves. It would have been nice if they show some backstage footage on both videos. I'm not sure what it is, but I never cared for the RHRN album or the video. Still, RHRN highlights for me included, Mike doin' "Sunday Afternoon In The Park" in his bass solo and the band segue into "Pleasure Dome" right afterward was cool!

LWAN, without a doubt. RHRN was filmed over two separate shows and they spliced them together. The continuity sucks, Sammy's clothes keep changing, nah......

btw, I've been meaning to ask this question for a while now but I keep forgetting. At the end of every concert video I have, as the band is leaving the stage, Eddie raises his arm in the air and yells something to the crowd. The crowd yells something back. What are they saying? I need to know this because I WILL have front row seats for the next VH show even if it kills me and I'd like to know what it is I'm supposed to be yelling. http://www.vhforums.com/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gif
