Just heard on PTI that Leinhart is gonna make his decision on whether or not to go pro on Thursday. What do you guys think his decision will be? Personally i hope he leaves so that UCLA could finally beat USC! :irked:

It would surprise me if he didn't go, for two reasons:

A. He'll go #1

B. He'll be going to SF, which would be close to home.

Of course I'd love him to come back, but he should go, there's absolutely no reason to stay. He'll never be able to top this season. UCLA is light years away from beating SC. SC has two great QB's behind Leinart. John David Booty was one of the top QB's in the nation when he came out, and SC is getting apparently the other #1 QB in the nation...I forgot his name. SC is going to be very good again next year.

Another great college QB who won't be much in the NFL IMO.

If and I mean If Pete Carroll decides to leave USC for the 49ers, He would probably fraft him with the #1 pick. But I wouldn't bet on him leaving USC, he belongs in college football much like Rick Pitino blongs in college hoops.

Carroll already said he's not leaving and has no interest in the 49ers job. Don't be so sure on Leinart, he is a very good QB. He's tall, he's smart, he rarely makes bad throws and his arm will only get better. I completely disagree with the assumption he won't be any good.

You're a dumbass, Eddymon. Leinart has exactly the right kind of skills to play and succeed in the NFL.

Yep, he's got all the right skills and the perfect mentality to be a good NFL QB. Now Jason White will never make it in the NFL though.

Heard an LA radio station interview today where Leinart seemed to hint he was going to come back. Something about being part of something very special, the NFL will still be there in 10 months. He also ins enrolled and going to class for the Spring semester, not that that means anything.

Wish we all could have seen him against that vaunted Auburn defense..Man, I'm still pissed about the BCS jobbing of Auburn.

We already saw SC against Auburn last year and it was 23-0 and Leinart had never taken a college snap. I don't suspect it would have been any closer a year later.

Then you obviously haven't seen Auburn play much this season. As far as last year goes, we had no offensive coordinator and our defense was extremely young. I respect USC a lot and not saying Auburn would have won but there is no way USC would have shut out Auburn or beaten us as bad as Oklahoma.

The BCS sucks and Chokelahoma proves my point by playing for the NC last year after getting punked by KSU.

No doubt Auburn was better this year than in 2003, but so was USC, especially defensively. I think it probably would have been closer because Auburn's defensive backs are better than Oklahoma. I still think SC would have dominated up front on both sides of the ball like they did OU, and that would make the difference again. USC just runs pro-style offenses, very few programs run sophisticated enough D to stop it.

Possibly..Although, Auburn did a good job against the ACC's top ranked offense in VT. They also held Georgia to 6 points and were the nation's top ranked scoring defense against the 5th ranked toughest schedule.

Again, I have no clue whether we could have competed with USC and matched wits with Chow/Carrol and Co. My main complaint is the BCS, once again has absolutely screwed a more deserving team by keeping Auburn out of the Orange Bowl.

This is pretty sweet! USC is going to be pretty tough to beat now. Even if Leinhart left, things looked pretty good for us. With him staying though, it's icing on the cake. :thumb:

Or next for that matter Sucka! I am a pretty frustrated 49er fan after this year. It will be a while before we really start to come back. Hopefully, this year was rock bottom for us though. I'd like to see some sound moves made in the next year to ensure a good rebuilding here. At least I have USC to still root for though!

That offense is just going to be unstoppable again with him back. Defense is the only question mark. Unfortunately Lofa Tatupu elected to come out early, and they've lost guys like Grootegood and and Shaun Cody, so they have some parts to fill in. If the D is solid, they're going to be awfully, awfully tough again.

yeah brett ya must be pumped....damn near everyone is comin back....might as well engrave the trophy now.

as far as the Leinhart goes, i think he rocks...they're are #1 draft picks and they're are dudes that you can make the face of your team...Leinhart seems like the real deal...ideal size, smart, strong arm. I can't blame him for staying, cuz when its all said and done, USC is gonna be talked about forever for what they did in the last 2 years and next year. But this is turning into one weak ass draft class. next year's, however, could be one of the best ever.
