Not sure if it's my system or if the ILAA folks are asleep at the switch...the 5 Star packages go onsale tomorrow afternoon for the Toronto show and they still don't appear to have a price listed...it just shows as $TBD when i login...you'd think they would have that detail sorted out by now...24 hrs away from releasing them for sale??? Anybody heard anything?

Why let you know they're gonna rape you early? Best to dump it on you when you've already got your cc out, ready to type.

my guess would be 400 for a 5 star and 200 for a 4 star, like last time
however, highball it
be prepared for 500 and 300 respectively

I had zero luck getting in touch with anybody at the first several venues.
But, the rep I spoke with at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Chicago gave me these price quotes for regular tickets, not ILAA:
$150
$80
$60
It's never safe to assume, but I'll assume these will (hopefully) be the norm for the rest of the tour?
The ILAA rep told me this yesterday:
5 Star:
$375-$475
4 Star:
$250-$350
Keep in mind those are "ballpark figures, according to the ILAA rep I spoke to yesterday. Nothing has been finalized yet.
And, there will be NO meet n' greet with the 5 Star.

I agree. But, as someone at another VH forum pointed out, ILAA is also ran by VH's management, Irving Azoff.
At those prices, the man knows what he's doing.
I've had my moment in the sun with the band, but not including a Mn'G, group pic, or soundcheck, with them at the price they're considering for the 5 Star is just wrong.

unless you are in the first few rows, seats on the floor stink IMO.. I'd rather be on the side in the lower part of the arena. But if you are halfway back on the floor, what's the point?
No wonder I quit going to concerts a few years ago. Just give me my 3 hour Black Crowes show with no opening band in a club playing a new set list every night for $40:headbang:

thats Bull Shit!!! they did not do meet and greets last time either and people forked out hundreds of bucks for the 5 star passes.
Why cant they take a freakin half hour and just meet the 5 star people?
I thought for sure after all the people who voiced that last time they would have come through this time.
Well I gotta tell you. I bought 2 5 stars last time hoping for a miricle and nothing came in the form of a meet and greet.
I am really thinking long and hard about getting railed again this time just to get a little closer...

I predict they start a few dates at around $400. If they sell out immediately, the next few dates will be $450. If they hardly sell any (as most Sammy fans here will say), then they will go down to $350.

I posted yesterday that the 5 Star package includes "seating" inside the ramp area, while the 4 Star will only give you a seat in the first 20 rows.
What I am wondering is if the 5 stars will get to go to soundcheck like the last tour.

Well the descrition at ILAA doesn't say soundcheck like it did in 04, so I doubt it will include soundcheck. Either way no matter how much it is it is too much. You are better off going to a broker or even paying Live Nation for premium seats. They have been doing that lately for shows. They know you are willing to spend it. For Velvet Revolver and AIC you could purchase 2nd row seats the day they went on sale for around $175.00 each. That's not bad if you ask me. I am sure they will ask more for VH but you may be better off.

I completely disagree with the pricing being too much. I did the Van Halen 5-Star in Dallas. Granted, it was $395 which is many times more than any other concert I've been to. But it was all worth it. First class treatment all the way. Open bar and food. A private concert, aka Soundcheck, in a large arena. Prizes and gifts. Backstage tour. Met some really cool people from these forums, which normally you wouldn't get a chance to do at a concert. It was all of the pre-show stuff that made it special.
Now, I was lucky and my seats were front row, dead center -- coloring my opinion somewhat. But even if I only got 2nd or 3rd row, it would have been great.
When people ask if it was worth it or not, I simply say that I didn't pay enough.

Yeah, the Black Crowes rock. I've gone to their concert the last two years in Cincinnati and the shows were completely different and both rocked. They strike me as very Zeppelin-esque live...different show each night, a lot of jams in the middle of songs, etc. I'm looking to get tickets Friday for the Cincy show on 10/22.

Jesus Christ, $550 to $675 for 5 Star tickets depending on city and $300 to $350 for 4 Star tickets depending on city?!?
Also, it should be noted that the 4 Star tickets "front row" *start* at the beginning of the outside leading edge of the ego ramp that wraps around the pit. Therefore, front row is actually about 75 feet from the main stage where the band will spend most of their time playing. And I'd be willing to bet 20th row 4 Stars are about at the half court marker on the floor of the arena. Sure, occasionally Ed, Dave and Wolf will roam out to the edge of the ramp so you will get chances to see these guys up close but it's nothing like being directly in front of the main stage inside that pit.
I am not a poor guy by any means but fuck that machine. Springsteen's pit tickets will likely be priced at about $150 max and that's GA with none of this ILAA shitfuckery. Bruce gets my best money.

Yep. You can look up pricing and descriptions on ILAA's website under the shows going on sale tomorrow. I think the Chicago prices of $675 5 Stars are close to the highest we'll see for other major cities like NYC and LA but at this point, it's anyone's guess and nothing would surprise me at this point.

I'd say the odds are very likely unless they're counting on the 4 - 6 person wide rows they may try to squeeze in on either side of the money pit enclosure as seen in the digital rendering of what the stage is supposed to look like. IMO, that image is out of scale and I find it difficult to imagine they fit that enclosure and rows of seats on either side of that thing on the floor of a typical arena. I think the enclosure will hog up the space on the floor with no room for seats on either side just like the U2 stage setup did.
Ticketmaster or any of the other official sources for tickets or band info doesn't have an accurate seating chart yet so really, it's all speculation until a real seating chart shows up for one of the shows and even that could change by opening night when they build that stage in an actual arena.

Wow $695 for 5 star...People will buy these no doubt, for the die hard, die hard real fans...IT DOES SUCK, but casual fans wouldn't touch those with a 10foot pole, so it really does give the die hard the best chance to see them up close...My thought though, I don't know anyone personally who would drop that much money to go with me. How much fun would that be? I think they could run into problems with this money pit.
I enjoyed the 5 star in 04. I was content just knowing I would be close. Plus, the soundcheck kicked ass.

Unfortunately, you're right.
I did the five star thing in 04' Toronto (thanks to my VERY amazing buddy) and I'll say this, it was a great experience. However, I personally wouldn't do it again, for monetary reasons of course. The soundcheck was pretty cool, backstage tour seemed like a cattle call as mentioned. We DID however get to hang out with Dugan and spend some time in Mad Anthony's cafe' and hear some old war stories. Dugan is a pretty cool guy (just picture an older, heavier Captain Ron ;) Anyway, the food at the "private party" sucked ass, no free booze etc. Like I said, to me, it was a one time really cool experience. This time, it sounds EXACTLY the same MINUS the soundcheck with a HIGHER price. It's just not a logical thing for me anyway. They "the band" must obviously get a big cut of these prices. And as mentioned, management are smart as hell because these packages WILL sell out. It's guaranteed money for the band. So in 04', even if a lot of the shows were less than full, they still made a profit. The business end of this, just completely blows.

It's just not worth it. Without being there for soundcheck how can you justify such a price. No doubt many of us will be going with a group of people to these shows. I know in my circle of friends and family who will be going I am the only one who would even consider shelling out that kind of money. So lets say I do. For myself, my wife and my son I will spend about $1700.00 for 3 tickets. We have to be in the arena 3 hours before the show starts so no tailgating with friends and other fans in the parking lot. I get finger food and open bar for my wife and I for 1 hour. For the amount of food and alcohol I could get the same thing as take out at a chilis for say $40.00 and booze maybe another $30.00. Now you walk around "back stage", no contact with the band and great we all get a cheap "exclusive t-shirt and Hat" that aren't worth it. I still never wear the trucker hat from the 04 5 star package or the cheap ass thin t-shirt. Not to mention I didn't have the chance to hang out before the show with the 6 or so people I am going with and have a better time with that. I would be willing to bet that here in CT I can probably get good floor seats for about $300.00 tops each buy 3 t-shirts that are much better quality than the ILAA ones for about another $150.00 and still hang out with my friends and all the other awesome VH fans in attendance.

The $250 I spent for a spot in the Golden Ring on the '04 tour, having Mike and Sam autograph my stuff, is looking like a real bargain now. I'm a hardcore fan and I can afford it, but those 4-5 Star prices are out of the question. The decision to attend this show should've been a no-brainer for me, but these ticket prices are yet another blow to my VH morale and I'm not sure if I'm even going.
I did the 5 star in 04 and it was a lot of money then, but worth it. Soundcheck was incredible, and for me, a better experience than the concert, especially being able to say hi to Eddie and shake his hand. The food absolutely sucked and the back stage tour was crap...here's the changeroom, here's Eddie's hangout (it was closed off and covered up with tarp). I'm glad I did it though.
I have the money for this time as well, and I'm a hardcore fan, but at these prices with no soundcheck, I'm going to pass. It just isn't right that fans get treated like this. I understand a 5 star thing costing money, but at these prices it's just a rip. Fans shouldn't be treated this way. I understand all the supply and demand bullshit, and that these tickets will sell out, but that doesn't make it right. I'll be in the regular seats this time around.
695.00 per ticket is just stupid lets do the math here
2 Tickets floor 250.00
parking 10.00
hotel (drunk) 125.00
beer keg import 80.00
food to cook out 60.00
2 shirts 90.00
comes to 615.00 now why the hell would anyone pay 695.00 a ticket to sit and eat chicken wings (that sucked) to be inside the ramp if i remeber right the early events sold out rather quickly last tour it doesnt look to be doing the same this time.
Hell I can sneek up there anyways

BTW---Toronto ticket info is now at ticketmaster.ca--prices were reduced from $199.50 CDN! But, seating chart doesn't take the "S" ramp into account...weird!

Chicago 4 & 5 star packages for the All State Arena show sold out in less than 15 minutes. I went on to look at getting 4 start tix and it was sold out by 5:15 and the sale started at 5. I will have to try for Chicago UC at 6!

Everyone is complaining about the prices, but the initial run of 5-Star is all sold out. So it looks like it was priced correctly, from a supply/demand viewpoint.
I did the 5-Star in Dallas for $395, and it was worth it in my opinion. I would consider doing $695 this time around, but only if the soundcheck was included. The soundcheck was really cool -- like your own private concert with 150 fans in a 20,000 seat arena. But if soundcheck is not included....I don't know.

By not including the Soundchecks, they don't get into gripe situations, if the band, or part of the band don't make it to the soundcheck.
But think about this..... they can give you anything "extra" they want to, including a soundcheck, if they happen to feel like it.
I won't be doing the 4 or 5 star thing. If I get regular tickets, it will be in the rafters..... and actually, that should be good enough, if they don't dick around with the sound system!!
Whether or not I would consider buying scalped tickets just to sit in the rafters, will depend on the setlist, and, the reviews from fans, that really love the Hard Rock VH, more than the commerical rock VH....

just saw the prices posted at ILAA for Toronto...now i don't love ILAA...what a friggin' rip...$695 and no mention of meet and greet or soundcheck like we had included in '04....i've waited a long time to see this show, but no way am i paying that kinda money for what they offer...i've got ILAA tickets for Sammy in Nov...only $200 and that includes a friggin spot ON THE STAGE...this is just stupid.
Without the soundcheck these prices should have gone down!!!! If the soundcheck was included again then it would be worth it. I remember in 2004, pretty much every 5* said they would have paid double for what we saw at soundcheck. That was a memory that is burned into my brain. The backstage tour was a very quick walk through the back. Funny thought...during that backstage tour we were basically hustled past Ed's side and told not to touch anything. On Mike and Sam's side we were allowed to go in the pit and have a good look around. Even the backstage tour showed the difference in attitudes between band members.
Personally, for what they are offering for this package, it just isn't worth it. Although parking in Toronto can come close to that price for some events. :D

Apparently the high prices aren't affecting the ILAA ticket sales. Who's buying up all the ILAA tickets so fast? Corporations?

No doubt. I spent a lot of money on the 2004 tour. I paid for a normal seat in Buffalo, 5* in Toronto and won an online auction for a seat in the pit in Hamilton. As I said, the soundcheck made every penny paid worth it. That was unique and it turns out, a one time deal. Based on how tight ILAA worked the check-in process in 2004, I really hope these are being bought by fans and not brokers. I still have my print-out that said tickets are non-transferable. The whole idea was that true fans got these tickets.

I got 4 Star tickets for United Center Chicago. I clicked in right on the dot at 6 when the sale started they were sold out once I purchased my package and went back to the sale page. You need the credit card you purchased the ticket with and the email confirmation as well to pick up the tickets. I am not certain how brokers would be able to swing these packages then.

Has anybody figured out where 4 and 5 star seats are? 5 star says inside the "ramp"- but what is the ramp? The only ramp I see in on the stage. 4 star in the 1st 20 rows. So maybe like this?

agrede---i remeber you now from the To 5 star jetguy---we stood next to each other and asked ed about his open-toe converse shoes (I think you made reference to the effect of "airing it out" or something LOL---) definitely agree with your post---no soundcheck = no way---gonna drop a bundle for a good seat but not as much as with ILAA

I don't have any problems with the price being higher without the soundcheck included. Its a supply and demand thing, and that's fine. This is with Roth for the first time in more than 2 decades, so the demand is ultra-high right now.
Now, the insider scalping issues, the fact that the servers can't handle the amount of people ordering the packages, etc....those are different stories.
I also did the 5 star in 04 and without the soundcheck it would not have been worth it. I emailed ILAA and they said unfortunately no there will be no soundcheck available on this tour. So my mind is made up, no 5 star this year. For the money they are asking for the 5 star and living on Long Island, I will go to the shows in NJ, NYC and Long Island. 3 shows with good seats and cheaper than one 5 star. Thats my plan.

04 was Luck enoghy to afford five* and Ring tickets on eds side here in LA
so it was like 400 each..... would do it again at that price. It was a dram come true to be so close to the guys. Here are my feelings firts 5*...Man soundcheck with the 5* was so cool even though ed was kind of a dick and no Sam it was cool to see GOD just Noodle some tunes and have fun with it sure was worth the $$..Sam signed during the concert even my buds glass Cabo Bottle....The look on Sams face was worth the $$$$ right there It was at the end of the concert last song before encore and we wipped it out in front of him he litterally stopped in his tracks.... took two or three looks like how did you get that in here and sat down and signed it for us What a DUDE! A NIGHT to remember! The Night Before I was in the rings on eds side didn't know which till I got there How cool was that to be so close to Ed and only 10 feet from his moster stack of amps!!! My buds could not believe the pics I sent them! It to was worth it. Mikey was also the man and even though we were across the stage came over and shook hands in the opposite pit and sam signed more stuff for us. Ed he pretty much kept to himself but tossed some pics occasionally!
Will I do it again.... for $695 and no soundcheck! I think not
I suerly doubt Dave will be as interactive with the crowd as Sammy was
and I agree with most all of the other posts 7bills for a close tix, cheap food, a tshirt and cap with a beer is a rip!!!
For 7 bills I'll get some lodge seats, treat a couple of buds to a night out
have some beer in the parking lot and crank some classic VH from the back of the Pickup Truck like Ol Dave said at the Press Conference. See you all there in the parking area at staples!

I did the 5* here in Biloxi during the last tour. Fans going for the ILAA packages might have a better chance of having more of an itimate setting with less people at the smaller city shows. There were only about 20-25 people at the sound check here. I heard stories of 100+ people at the sound check at the bigger cities. The less people there, the better.
I got to shake Ed's hand after the sound check.

i found the MLAA website on wednesday and signed up and at 4:00 the tickets went on sale for the Toronto show. The 5 star package went for 695 US each and i managed to score 2. Went to check back 15 minutes later cause my bro decided he wanted to go and they were sold out of both packages. Today they tried on line and i guess i got a good deal. Party time :)
