Which would it be?

Chickenfoot & Velvet Revolver
or
Van Halen & GnR

This was mentioned as a joke on the radio the other day due to the VH/GnR internet rumor...

VH doesn't get another dime out of me without new music.

VH doesn't get another dime out of me ever again if they tour with that Red-headed step-child who still needs to be beaten silly.

This thread has all the makings of a future "closed" thread. I don't think there's any chance of us having too many tours to choose from, here in "Vh-land."

So true.

But I'd take Chickenfoot and VR. I've seen the NEW incarnation of VH. It was great seeing Dave with Ed and Al.

But I need something NEW and FRESH and even though Axl's Solo band has produced some good NEW music......ughhh......VH hasn't yet.

So again....It's Chickenfoot and VR for the win.

And you're NEED to bash Hagar was just so PERSISTENT that you had to mention him.  Jesus Christ....:brickwall

It was a simple question: Chickenfoot/VR or VH and GNR.

Hey genius, the Red-Headed Step Child I was referring to is the lead singer of Guns 'N Roses not Sammy Hagar.

Maybe you should have read the last 10 posts I wrote about how much I'm digging the new Chickenfoot album and you'd get some context let alone a clue.

I'd take VH over CF VR and GNR all teamed up in one bill. As much as I love the new CF tunes and excited for the Cd and show Vh is still #1 4 me. Unless Led Zeppelin reuinted and just happened to be on the same night this is a no brainer. lol

I've never seen VH, so I definitely need to get to one of their concerts. I'd go with VH.

I had no interest to see Van Halen last go around, they'd have to put out a great album for me to even consider going. And even then, I'd still have to really think about it. I'd pick Cf just because I would like to support Mike and I like the new songs.

Chickenfoot / VR, hands down.

At this point I'd have to say Chickenfoot because they are going to be loose and having fun, whereas I think VH and GNR would be more stressed out.

Chickenfoot.

But only if Rick Astley is supporting.

Unless I am buying an X box (like Brett had to last time VH toured ;)j/k) then I would go see Eddie and who ever he wants to play with.
CF seems like a cool gig but to compete with VH, are you serious?

Chickenfoot & Velvet Revolver, without a doubt!

Tough choice since I've been a loyal VH fan for 25 years.

I'd love to see Chickenfoot though since they have new music and serious momentum.

Chickenfoot for sure

I am in the no more money from me without new music camp in regards to Van Halen as well. Two nostalgia tours is enough, no need for more.

There is also zero desire on my part to see the W. Axl Rose Solo Project.

Chickenfoot/Velvet Revolver for the win!

neither of these is particularly attractive. I'm in no way interested in seeing velvet revolver and I'm not interested in guns and roses.

I missed VH last time out and I'm a bit dissapointed but not enough to make me go out of my way to see them if there's no new music.

I like Chickenfoot but if they play an arena, I'll probably pass. At this point, something very special would have to be happening for me to go to an arena or stadium show.

Now, Chickenfoot with Mr Big or Extreme at the House of Blues or the Verizon Wireless? Now we're talking!! Sign me up!

Without a doubt, Van Halen & Guns N Roses.

I would take The Other Half and the Wabo's over GnR and VH. I went to see VH in Greensboro in 07 but didn't bother to see them in my hometown of Raleigh when they came through on the second leg and I didn't even have to make a choice between VH and someone else.

The G-rated, all ages, family friendly VH show that was 07-08 was fun to see but ultimately rather dull. Understandably because of Eddie's health and issues VH won't ever do the show I want to see again which is fine. Times change and people age. Sammy and CF still know how to have a good time and will work hard to make sure everyone has a good time.

Dull yes, yet G-Rated? Hardly. Unless the Disney films you purchase for the kids include monologues about pot smoking and use the word fuck every so often.

Yep, definitely not G-Rated. As for the question at hand, never been a fan of VR, but I'm up for a Chickenfoot show. As for VH, I guess since I sort of gave up on them between 1998 and 2007, I'm not as pissed at them as some folks are. Let's just say that it would likely make for a tough decision for me....even moreso if you keep Axl out of the picture.

Gotta go with the Foot on this one. I'm still miffed at Axl for stopping the GnR show I drove 150 miles to go see, after 15 minutes somebody threw a bottle and he stopped the show. :irked:

Plus I think the guys in Chickenfoot would have a genuinely good time playing tunes. I'd show up after Velvet Revolver though, not really into them after that HOF nonsense.

Definitely VH. Its tough to pass on an opportunity to see Ed and Al pound it out live. These cats are master musicians!

Chickenfoot, definitely. Anyone who went to the VH 'reunion' would see the same exact show....again. GNR is a joke now.

The Greensboro show must of been much different because Dave didn't really talk to the crowd much and if he did whatever he was saying wasn't very interesting. Don't remember anyone talking about smoking pot nor did I see anyone smoking weed. I will say G-rated compared to a 1984 show.

The only thing that may not of been proper viewing for kids that I saw were the keyboard track for Jump being played at the wrong speed and DLR bouncing around stage on a giant dildo.

Yes, Greensboro must have been a different type of show. For the rest of the tour, Roth bounced around on a inflatable microphone, not a dildo.
