My my my, this is coming along nicely! If I may step away from the current topic for moment --

Bein' one of the newer EUAS booties, I don't want to overstep my bounds, here. But here are a couple of suggestions I'd make.

1) Brett went to great lengths to make that FW pic available, and we use it in appreciation for that effort. Far as I'm concerned, it's of little consequence whether or not that icon is available to everyone else. Likewise, nobody will begrudge anyone a judgment call such as that made by Sweet William.

2) It's not to our advantage to get hung up over a thread getting closed by the misdeeds of someone who doesn't use the tag. We've got nothing to prove in thread length. If it's closed, I'd suggest we shrug it off and immediately start "Heard you missed us II", then go to "III", and so on as closures dictate. As long as EUASers play nice, that strategy will net us a running score of where the real problems are.

3) Our modified stance is neither about retreat nor capitulation -- quite the opposite, in fact. There's a little romper room to vent in now, and that's where the straight, uncut EUAS will reside. But a pressure valve like that only redoubles our obligation to represent the die-hard classic VH faction with even temper and good humor in a forum such as this one.

The reasoning is simple. When you make it your mission to scream louder and hit harder, people lose sight of who started the fight. How's anyone supposed to keep track of the original problem when you make a bigger problem of your own? So let's just leave it to the problems to be problems. They're better at it than we are.

This'll only work if we keep it cool. Reason seems to be with us. Make her your ally, and make EUAS the full juggernaut it can be.

Plus DLR lead VH will be new to the teeny-bopper crowd so they'll be like-what and who the fuck was that, and they'll throw away their Back street Boys, and Limp Bisquick cds for some real music. Guys, this is gonna be a tough time for everyone. Thank god we have Links and DLR Army boards to stay together and be strong.

It's just the word 'cancer' that ......just disturbs me greatly. I don't care if the cancer is minimal, it's just that from those I've lost in the past, cancer is just a sickening thing and I hate hearing about it.

So Ed, I know you can get out of this one, but then you'll have another fight.....the fight of having to quit smoking FOR GOOD.

They say kickin' cigs is worse than kickin' heroin...

I've tried to quit smoking and it's VERY hard...

Kicking the habit sucks. I quit smoking AND dipping 2 1/2 years ago, hardest thing I ever did, worst 2 weeks of my life. After two weeks, it isn't that bad. You just have to divorce yourself from everything you associated with smoking. The feeling at the end of accomplishing that was unreal. If at first you don't succedd, just keep grinding your teeth until you finally do it.

I never smoked, but the biggest problem I have with smokers who stop smoking is girls who stop smoking, almost invariably they will gain 30 pounds. It sounds immature I know, but man what a waste when a hottie becomes a fattie.

Probably due to 2 factors: 1) Nicotines speeds your metabolism and quitting smoking slows it 2) The lack of smoking drives you crazy so you EAT to try to forget about cigarettes.

I don't want to discourage you from smoking guys, but so far, every hot girl I've ever known who stopped smoking gained about 30 pounds. it ain't a pretty sight, in this humble poster's not so humble opinion. But most of you are guys so what the hell do I know. Janevh, do you smoke?

In the worst (and actually, quite frequent) scenario the woman stops smoking, gain weight, then gets depressed of her weight and starts smoking again. That is THAT scenario that I had in mind when writing my last post. Not only she may have lung cancer, but heart disease as well.

To avoid appear sexist, everything I've said so far apply to men as well.

I am in the firm opinion that being overweight is not a normal human condition. We as a race evolved as animals contantly stuggling with cold & hunger. The abundance of food in the sedentary lifestyle is very recent and we didn't have the time to adapt yet, as animals. Our massive storing of fat is not a good genetic trait. We need to manage our food intake ourselves to compensate for this flaw.

I hate fucking feminists who try to make women believe that it's OK for them to be fat and learn to appreciate themselves like they are. Yeah sure, and have a hard time finding a boyfriend, and risk having heart disease. I never insult or make fun of obese women, I assume they are reminded more often than necessary about their overweight problem. But don't think for a nanosecond that I'll be attracted to one.

You can ask the Pastors of the Church where I stand. They will be happy to tell you. And I am NOT "Extremeist". I have no idea who that is, but he or she seems to represent the views that most people had at the Church until recently.

Hey my brothers what is up!? I just dropped by cause my daughter's sleeping. Drop a line for those that don't know yet.

Wednesday, Korry started running a fever. We associated it with her chronic ear infections so weren't too worried, but made a doctor's appointment for Thursday. She had 102 fever when wife took her to the doc. Doc checked the ears, they're clear. She has an upset tummy and scratchy throat. They cultured it for strep, it came back negative. Doc said there's a virus going around, gives kidos headaches, sorethroats, high fevers and makes 'em lathargic, all of which describe my daughter ( though I have no idea about the headache, I mean like a 12 month old is gonna tell me her head hurts!). So wife and I had plans Thursday evening and my mom was keeping her and said she could handle a sick baby so we went ahead and did our thing. When we picked her up at 10:00, she had a big fever so we called the doc. We took the temp. one more tome and it was 105.5, doc says hit the ER, so we did. The ER doc cultured her throat again, no strep, took a chest x-ray, no pneumonia, gave her a big ass dose of ibuprofin on top of what we had given her, and 200 mL of normal saline thru an IV. He drew some blood and her white blood cell count was on the high side of normal. He agreed with our pediatrician's diagnosis of virus, and said it would take about a week to run thru her. When her fever came down to a respectable level he let us go home. So we did at 1:30 in the morning, I got to bed about 2:30 and woke up for work a few hours later. I'm beat and I'm on call this weekend, so I'm gonna be out for a few days. Also just on the mild side of important, I need to spend as much of my free time as I can with Korry, she needs her daddy! Many of yopu know my wife teaches, which loosely translates into she's stuck at home all day with a fussy 12 month old while I'm at work. So she needs immediate relief when I get home. Alls fair I suppose. She spends 10 hours or so with a fussy baby, I spend about the same with adults. I just wish I got to stay home with the baby all day! Anyway my point is, I won't be around much. I just wanted to let you guys know so you could pick up my slack!

Hey House---hope the litlle one gets better soon! Our son had what I think is probably the same thing---strepducocus (spelled wrong I'm sure) it's not strep throat, but close. Our Doc said it just has to work its course, but that a child will only get the virus a couple of times before the body builds up immunity. Once the fever breaks, your little girl will start being herself again. It does scare the Hell out of you though, doesn't it?

Hey stevo, no shit! It is scary watching the digital readout on the thermometer going up and up and ....... not stopping! It hit 103 and I about lost my dinner! Parenting is not for the weak at heart is it? Geez, I can only hope it ends soon! My daughter is extremely active for a 12 month old, she was walking at 10 months old, she started rolling over days after she was born, started crawling around three months old, she's not one that likes to be held constantly or even for five minutes! You can imagine our dismay when all she wanted to do was be held and cuddle up on my shoulder! She's perking back up now, but still doesn't have much of an appetite or much energy. She can't play very long with out sitting down and resting. The fever has broke finally, but still has a bigtime sore throat. Our biggest battle now is keeping her from becoming dehydrated.

I'm....Baaaackkkkk!!!! If only for a moment. I haven't been on this thread in weeks...so I thought that I'd reannounce my prescence with some authority. Here's my thoughts on being inducted into EUAS at this moment...and it's changed quite drastically over the months. Let's face it...how in the hell can anyone control the tag EUAS? Well, I'll tell you in a second. Down in Flames...I'm a founder...with hainy, brownie and pav....and we've inducted a slew of members...I believe we're up to 22. The fact of the matter is that I can't control ANYONE applying the tag to the bottom of their threads. So, my thoughts are this...if you think you can hang...add those four special words at the bottom of your threads. Hell man, from what I've seen in your brief stint...you deserve it. If we find that you don't...well...I'm sure we can convince just about anyone that EUAS shouldn't be a part of their tag. So...if that helps you...

Lead Synth...girl...it's nice to see you here. I have a couple of questions for you since I've been left out of the loop for the past few weeks. Where's your picture...and when can we get married? Down In Flames, it's real simple man. Just go to the top of the page where it says profile and click on it. You'll be asked your password and such, then it will show you all of your personal info that you entered in when you signed on. At the bottom there is a box where you can enter whatever you want for your tag line, and a little box that you have to check to display it. Piece of cake bro.

Type in the URL of the picture.

Then put "img" in front of the URL, and put "/img" right after the URL.

Only put these "img" tags in BRACKETS instead of quote marks.
