some little birds who are "in the know" have told me that DLR and his band are rehearsing some different songs.

they mentioned a few that he hasn't played since maybe VH days. And some other solo tunes as well.

one of the songs mentioned is one of my faves from Dave--"Goin' Crazy"

from what I heard, the band is really trying to get Dave to do more solo stuff and some different VH songs. graemlins/devil.gif

I'm expecting both DLR and SH to come out with guns-a-blazin' because they will both want to show up the other guy! graemlins/thumb.gif

this isn't a rumor MODS so don't move the thread! tongue.gif

I hope he does mix it up a little bit.

I cannott wait to see which set lists are performed by both Sammy and Dave. This is gonna' be a fun show for everyone !! (except maybe Alex Van Halen and his brother)

Now this would make an already heavily anticipated show even more so!! graemlins/thumb.gif

I think if there isn't going to be any "bonding" between the two, at least initially, then they both ought to break out some really cool solo gems they haven't played in a while.

Thanks for the tip hain...and tell your "little birds" we said thanks too! :D

maybe not so much showing each other up, but a celebration of the music, for the fans. let's hear some of those old nuggets...

as for Dave doing different songs...well, i'll believe it when i see it...

DDKY...just to pass on a bit of info...

When Jerel & I were in KC, waiting for them to open the doors for Dave's show last summer, you'll never guess what song they were soundchecking.

D.O.A!!! graemlins/thumb.gif

I'm sure a bunch of other KC Dave-heads who were there heard the same thing too! Bad thing is...

Dave didn't break it out that night. :(

Here's hoping 2002 is a bit different! smile.gif

I like to hear "Yankee Rose, Just a Gigalo, Ladies Night In Buffalo, Slam Dunk, Goin' Crazy..."

I hope he does more solo material, but I suspect he is going to bring out some different VH material than the last tour.....which is still kool...

I think Dave is due to play some different tunes on this tour. D.O.A. would be nice to hear along with 'Romeo Delight'.

As much as I want Dave to play his solo stuff.

I promised my son he would play Jump. God help me if I let a 3 year old down. He's been geeked. Talks about the concert every other minute.

Of his solo stuff I'd like to hear Goin' Crazy, Damn Good and Black Sand.

I've heard Jump enough, but I wouldn't mind hearing it again I guess.

"Goin' Crazy!?" Giddy-the-fuck-up! Ray said they may do "A Lil' Ain't Enough," also. The only two I heard of them possibly doing are my two favorites (well, those two and "Slam Dunk!," being my absolute favorite). Man I hope he actually does these.

I hope he digs into some of his solo stuff! He has a lot of quality stuff, and by singing all VH tunes, he is just proving he can't make it at all on his own.

Goin' Crazy is one of the DLR solo songs I least like, unfortunately.

Now that would be trés cool if Brian Young could play "Big Trouble" (from EEAS). Also they should do about half of the DLR Band album.
