Let's see what we can come up with!!
What I am trying to do is see how far someone can make a "family tree" with different artists and the bands they played in...BUT you have to start with the members of Van Halen and end up with whoever you wish. Your "tree line" will have to be something like (example) "Van Halen to Black Sabbath"
Van Halen singer David Lee Roth played with Steve Vai who played with Whitesnake's David Coverdale who played with Rudy Sarzo (bass player) who played with Randy Rhoades who played with Ozzy who sang for Black Sabbath. I could go on forever but I want to see what we all can come up with!! Let's have some fun while we wait for the big announcement!!!!

How about this? Ed played in a 1 time project with Brian May that also included bassist Phil Chen(I thinks that's his name) who played bass for Rod Stewart,who sang with Jeff Beck,who played with the Yardbirds, replacing Eric Clapton, a major influence for Ed.

Edward played with Dave, who played with Steve Vai, who replaced Yngwie Malmsteen in Alcatrazz, who was in a band called Steeler with Ron Keel. I know it's not great, but hey who woulda thought of Ron Keel? http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif

Eddie played the solo to Michael Jacksons Beat IT, Michael's sister, Janet had Nuno play the guitar solo to Black Cat..Nuno played with Dweezil Zappa on Dweezils albums...Dweezil's Father Frank played with Vai who played with DLR who sang for the GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND AROUND!!!! Then Gary Cherone came in for 3 and Gary was Extreme's lead singer.

Get this ones guys, ok it is the same basic idea from some of my other posts ok. Ed to Sammy,Sammy to Mickey Hart, Mickey to Phil Lesh, Lesh to Bob Dylan. Dylan to Harrison, Harrison to his ex wife to Eric Clapton. Hell you can pretty much go any where with that that you choose so I will stop there. I find myself thinking about this way too much guys.
