FIRE IN THE HOLE is ok but the best part of the song is the outro . Shit thats the best part on the whole album . What happened ??

The lyrics to "The Full Bug" are not my favorite, but the song is just great I can't really choose,the solo is great too. I have to say "Fire In The Hole" I love how sharp it sounds. I sing it in the shower....but I sing all the VH records in the shower! The solo in "Fire In The Hole" is cool because it starts with the ending music and then Eddie switches to the neck pick-up for regular music background on the solo. So nice!!! I say it is a tie. I wish maybe Full Bug was a little longer but I don't know what you could put. It has the Hot For Teacher-esk beat! hahaha!!

To say you don't care for the lyrics in the Full Bug or whatever is odd. Look at Fire in the Hole. In a word to the wisdom tooth, to tell or not the truth. *silence* ?????? I love the music in Fire in the Hole and the chorus is cool but the verses keep it from getting any playing time in my truck or cd player.

I'm gonna go with Fire in the Hole on this one. The outro is too cool! The Full Bug sounds (is) great especially the harmonica and the way Dave delivers the "best part of a man" lyric, but it's certainly not my fav VH song. It sounds a little too 80's too me. Keep in mind I'm one of those evil 90's kids, so give me a break. I love Dave, and if you like his lyrics, that's great they just aren't too my taste. Fire in the Hole. We know exactly where Dave would have gone with that. I like how Gary was able to write about corruption in politics while keeping in context with the music. Not what you would expect from Van Halen, but then again, that's why I like it.

I'm gonna vote for Fire In The Hole. Great riff and awesome outtro. Also, unlike the other songs, Gary's voice really seems like it goes with the style of the song a lot better than on the rest of the album.

gotta go with fire in the hole here. There is just no denying imo that it is an awesome song!

The Full Bug. Double bass drums always drive me crazy. A tight band playing the whole song, not a guitarist showcasing himself through the great outro.

Fire In The Hole....Great intro, outro and I care less about the lyrics...Both songs are great to play on guitar. Fire in the Hole outro should go on forever...an entire new song is happenning there!!

So FIRE has a cool outro , too bad the rest of the tune don't sound as cool .

Going through this whole forum, this looks like a veiled strike at III. Put The Full Bug up against Outta Love Again or Sinner's Swing and this would be interesting. Fire in the Hole is not one of my favorites off of III. I like the music, but the lyrics needed a little more work. Now The Full Bug blows my speakers out every single time. Like House of Pain on 1984, you start that sucker all over again for a second round because the boys are jamming!

The Full Bug gets my vote. Fire in the Hole is alright, but it, along with the whole album, really lacks the knockout punch! Cool idea, but the song needs a little more to it than a dramatic, bad-ass beginning and close.
