OK here goes: I like the songs from 5150 best of the three, the bottom end sound from FUCK best and the guitar sound from Balance...

But again it is a tough call...Those three ARE the best Sammy era VH CD's...

OU812 has a couple of killer songs...ie: Cabo Wabo being my favorite... But overall it is a weaker album.

That is a tough call. I would have to go with FUCK with 5150 a very close second. Balanced was awesome also.

5150 is the best overall album. Even though the mix isn't spectacular, you know where the songwriting was heading, you know? This was a classic (even though it had "Inside" - what a piece o' shit that was... http://64.176.3.141/vhlforum/smilies/eek.gif )

Balance has a better mix, but Sammy seemed to kind of crap out on a few songs, like Big Fat Money, Baluchitherium, Take Me Back (I actually like this song, but some of the lyrics make me cringe. It's not as weak as some might say. http://64.176.3.141/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif )

FUCK had the best mix for drums and bass but the guitar sounded strange, to me. http://64.176.3.141/vhlforum/smilies/confused.gif The songs were pretty good otherwise, but it didn't have a warm feeling to it.

5150 hands down ..

I didn't like FUCK at all. I know most do (or so it seems), but I just could not stand Ed's tone on this one, or the songs overall for that matter. So, FUCK would definitely be #3 on this list for me.

5150 and Balance go back and forth as my favorite Sammy-era albums. 5150 is just a great, fun album. There's nothing like a hot summer day (or night!) with the windows rolled down, and 5150 blaring through the speakers. Balance on the other hand, I think is definitely the best "sounding" VH album. The clarity and production are killer. I also love Ed's tone and playing on this one. He really rips it up on songs like Don't Tell Me, Aftershock, Balu ..., and Feelin'. Like I said, they go back and forth as my favorite's with Sammy. It really just depends on my mood. http://64.176.3.141/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

I've often said that Balance is the best Sam era album, but lately I've been rethinking that. Right now, if I had to rank those three albums from best on, it would go 5150, Balance, and then FUCK.
