I just got back from Vegas on vacation,
and the local rock station is having a
contest for the 150th Anniversary of
Jack Daniels. It's a surprise party
at the House Of Blues.
Well anyway, while leaving, the DJ
spoke of the party and stressed it
will include a SURPRISE MAJOR RECORDING ACT!
Right after she went into VH and said NO COMMENT.
Here's the link at KOMP's site!

That seems pretty low key for the return of the Mighty Van Halen. I don't think VH has layed low all this time just so they could make their first appearance at something like this.

I think this might be pretty cool!

Ed wanting to celebrate JD. This would be a little to much temptation for a recovering alcohalic.

I doubt it will happen.
Why would a recovering alcoholic support alcohol? With all the shit Ed has been through this last year
I think it is highly unlikely that they would announce the reunion at the JD b-day party. or even be there.
just another one to put in the rumor garbage can.

What's funny about DJ's and radio stations in general is they get you all hyped up on a major concert announcement, and then you find out its Eddie Money with special guest Mitch Ryder. Y'know? I'm not doubting you printkid, anythings possible!!http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gifhttp://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gifhttp://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif

Funny post TD Wolfdog. I've been burned by that shit many times. A fucken radio station claiming to have the biggest concert announcement in years and it ends up being REO Speedwagon with special guests The Little River Band and Survivor.
True, but every time I hear that radio advertisment on the radio, I think of Mike and his JD Bass. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif
Who knows...

I have to admit, Printkid gets some points for bringing this up. This is also the kind of topic that actually exists in the rumour mill, because part of it is actually fact that we can believe.
Anyway, I suggest all of us should be looking out for this type of concert for the next few months. I actually believe that a performance like the one mentioned by Printkid could very well be the coming-out party by VH. Can everyone imagine how much trouble it would be to sell tickets for an announced VH reunion show? It would be accompanied by so much hoopla that it could become dangerous for diehard fans standing in line to buy tickets. This tour, if it ever happens, is going to sell out in minutes everywhere it plays.
The Mike/JD connection is also, I would say, somewhat of an item for this topic. It certainly doesn't hurt the odds of this happening. However, I would consider Eddie's connection in Vegas to be more important. From what I can tell, Eddie knows the area very well, and attended the Hard Rock groundbreaking there a few years ago. Plus, Vegas is obviously not that far from LA.
Will this be VH? Probably not....all I'm saying is that it could be. I watched closely the last time KROQ in LA had their "Blind Date" concert similar to this Vegas one. Not only is KROQ in LA, but its surprise guests are always huge, like Rage, RHCP, and the last one turned out to be Metallica. However, as most people know in LA KNAC would probably have a VH event, being a classic rock/metal station.
Anyway...just my two cents.
George
