Would anybody be interested in a fantasy golf league this year? I've never been a part of one, but wouldn't mind setting up a league. Interest? Any?

I'm wippin' your ass by about 20 points and your talkin' trash? ....bwah ha ha hahahaha. Nice.

Brian, basically it's a draft lottery where you get to align your top picks (I'll assume 10 golfers or so) to have on your team. Depending on how many people are part of it, that's how many picks there are X10, or how "deep" the player pool is. Of course you would want to pick tiger woods, vijay, mickleson etc as your top choices in case you end up chosing first but then you need to be more creative on the rest of them. All players are ranked to start off so you don't really need to be completely involved in the PGA to end up with a good solid team. You compete in statistical categories which is called Rotisserie, or head to head which is basically your group of guys against another group of guys. All scoring is based off of stats. G.I.R, fairways hit, birdies, etc. The higher you score statistically, the higher your rank in rotisserie, and I'd imagine the head to head format is more like match play. Not sure which way I'd want to go between those two yet.

That's it in a nutshell.

If at least two or three more want to go for it, I'll set it up.

How long is the season?

How does it work?

Will I have to be making constant adjustments each week?

I would like more info.

The season is from this spring when the tour starts, all the way up to the pga championship. And yes, you would most likely have to tinker here and there to stay competitive. Probably not on a daily basis though. Perhaps prior to the weekend.

Thanks for the info Seen. I enjoy the PGA and do follow it on a casual basis, I am not sure I have it in me to follow it that close every single weekend in order to update my fantasy team. Plus I have a beef with the the PGA, why dont they let those poor bastards wear shorts?? Its 100 degree's out ther on the course and they guys have to wear slacks!! Fuck that!! if the women can wear skirts the men should get to wear shorts. Also, Phil Mckelson makes enough money to hire a personal trainer, for god sakes do something about those man boobs!!

Ok, so they don't let them wear shorts and that's why you don't want to play on a yahoo fantasy league. Got it. You're a strange man Olo. Everybody knows Phil has the sexiest man boobs out there.

Nahhh thats not why, I just dont want to have to read the PGA Box scores constantly to keep up with Players etc etc.

I feel for those guys not being able to wear shorts in that heat.

Gotcha. Remember though man, perspective. These guys shouldn't be felt too sorry for. They make millions of dollars for playing golf 4-5 days a week all year.!!

Shaq gets to wear shorts and he isnt even in 100 degree weather.

I just dont get why the PGA feels it so inapropreate.

It's just tradition man. Gentlemen don't wear shorts in public....in the finest tradition that is. Anything less, would be (you got it) "Uncivilized" of course.

I honestly can't believe there is an issue with shorts and pants. Next thing is monitoring the golf clap...wait, do they already do that?
The Shaq comparison is what they should bring up at the PGA board meeting! :D

I've went out there in my torn off Dockers. If John Daly can go out there half lit with a Marlboro in his hand, what's the problem with shorts?

Hell yes we are Gibbo!! :thumb:

Seenbad used to be a club pro so he must know someone in the PGA office. Seenbad while you are discussing the shorts thing with your PGA contact you might want to mention letting them ride in carts on those REALLY hot days as well. Ohhh and dont forget to mention Phil's man breast's those have to go.

Usually i try to post a P.G.A. thread this time of year, and it doinks. :brickwall

I follow golf as a friendly passion, Seen...dunno if I want to follow it this closely.

Honors for coming up with the concept, however. :bounce:

I shall enjoy checking out this thread!

Respectfully bowing out,

I have a question for anyone that has regularly watched golf for a while... What in the hell happened to David Duval? How do you go from being so good to so fucking bad in such a short period of time?

If memory serves me correct I think Duval has back or neck problems.

I am...The Doral Open is this week, along with some controversy.

Apparently, tournament sponsor Ford paid some hefty fees for players to appear in some pro-ams early this week, thus guaranteeing the strongest field we've had literally in years (something like 7 of the top ten players in the world).

Sadly, rain is forcast (briefly) for Thursday and Friday-the weekend is expected to be clear.
Currently, the temp is in the high 60's, and it/s almost 1 p.m.! :bounce:

May be going there on Friday, I'll let you folk know if my friend with the hospitality passes come through!
