Beofre the Tour begins.... I wanted a Thread that specifically deals with Encore suggestions, what you think would make for a Great Encore, or, what you think will be the encores will be anyway....... I have even added what I would not want to wait around and hear... for an encore...

I think that PANAMA and ATBL would make great encores, and leave almost all fans satisfied and happy. Just the kind of frenzy to leave the show with . . .

I most certainly hope that the encores do not contain ANY covers, or RWTD ! ! Also I think the encore needs to rock all the way through... so no build up, as in Ice Cream Man, for an encore.

They should always end with HAPPY TRAILS, though, imo.

I know it will never happen, and I'm realistic about it, but for me it would be Loss of Control.

If they play the same set list they played at the US Fest + Hot for teacher, Panama, and Top Jimmy, then I'll be set! they don't need to play Jump, they can just shit can that song! The true fans that have been waiting for this since 84 will be ok with that!!!!!

i'd like them to not leave anything obvious for the encore. Leave all the deep cuts for the encore, Atomic Punk, Outta Love Again & House of Pain. That's a perfect encore for me.

I guarantee they will do Jump. I wouldn't mind not hearing it either, but its a given in my opinion. I'd like to hear some of the deeper album tunes rather than just the hits. With so many to choose from though, its hard to pick just a couple.

Interesting tidbit on q107----just heard it but not sure if true or rumor---take it as you will but the DJ here in Toronto said that a few people were invited to a tour rehearsal (to drum up more global pr and hype i guess)---he said the show opens with RWTD and that the following were played at rehearsal (but he mentioned that it didnt confirm that it would be played live on tour---dont shoot the messenger): You really got me, and the cradle will rock, girl gone bad, dancing in the street, Panama, Jump, sinners swing, ATBL, feel your love tonight, dance the night away, im the one, light up the sky,everybody wants some, bottoms up, mean street, unchained, so this is love, hot for teacher, little guitars, where have all the good times gone, somebody get me a doctor, Atomic punk, ice cream man, on fire, romeo delight ---he said they ran through a full rehearsal (2 hours plus) but again DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER! I am just repeating what was said on the radio here---if, however, this is the set list (and again he didnt say this was the order or that these songs would be played live ) its gonna fucking rock! My gut feeling is that its total BS (it would end up on you tube--LOL) but just wanted to share this with you---thoughts???

IF that is the set list (which I'm very sure won't ever change :irked: ), then it's alright.
I'm kind of surprised that 'Cradle' is in there for some reason.

Unfortunately, the way concerts go is that encores have to be well-known, crowd pleasers.

So expect the usual: Aint Talkin Bout Love, You Really Got Me, Jump or Panama.

It would be nice to stick in a surprise, rare track in between them though.

Like after hearing You Really Got Me, everyone is expecting ATBL, instead Ed starts ripping into Bottoms Up or Girl Gone Bad.

That would be cool.

Man I really hope they play Girl Gone Bad and Hear About It Later......and don't count out Drop Dead Legs, remember how many times Ed ripped into that riff in 2004!!
