29 seconds?! That's it?! Well...better than nothing.

Let the floodgates of "he's using that sustainer too much" and "he's playing sloppy" and "he's not playing Mean Street with DLR" and "he's not playing 5150 with Sammy" and all the other slams begin!

I'm still stuck on the whole "House of Pedals" thing. Seriously, a giant party to celebrate unity and beauty through flowers? That's f*cked up. ...God Damn Hippies!! Anyway, cool to see the guy playing music in front of people again.

Without the space in the URL...I know it's like that on the YouTube description. And it will be in the next episode, not this one.

Are you a bigger fan of violence and strife? :D I may not be into flowers, but I see nothing wrong with it.

it was cool...sounded like a really neat piece of music...too bad we only got 29 seconds...but hey...the real show will be watching all the armchair guitar gods on here disect his playing and give us their "expert" opinions and insights into how the "one-time" master doesn't "have it" anymore.

How were you able to determine what the hell he was playing in the first place, let alone figure that it was sloppy? :wtf:

I tried to resist but, I can't.

I sure am glad he didn't used to be a world class brain surgeon!

Paul Cashmere of Undercover News reports that VAN HALEN guitarist Eddie Van Halen debuted some new music at the House of Petals in Los Angeles this week.

Van Halen played Wednesday night (July 19) jamming with Patrick Leonard (on keyboards). Leonard is best known for his songwriting and production work with MADONNA.

Undercover is told that Eddie and Patrick performed what is best described as an "impromptu jam of rock fusion."

Eddie, a personal friend of owner Joey House, agreed to make the rare appearance because he agrees the company philosophy of unity and beauty through flowers.

The invite-only audience included many celebrities, musicians, movie and TV stars.

Meanwhile, Undercover has learned that a Sammy Hagar / David Lee Roth / VAN HALEN tour is once again being mooted as possible. No confirmed dates have been locked in but all parties are known to be considering the possibility of the arrangement.

The "personal friend" needs to put Edward out in front of millions where be belongs, not in some flower shop. Never thought I'd live to see the day that he'd be playing with the flower people.

Am I the only one that finds it both amusing and distressing that Edward Van Halen chooses to present his new music, let alone jams...in a fucking flower shop? And isn't that same weirdness the real story here? :wtf:

Just be happy he didn't show up in the "Bloomin' Idiot" chain of mall kiosks (if that even exists anymore).

I would imagine that the reason you shelled out 2600 bucks for a Charvel was because you thought it was cool. I just posted a little while ago something about just this very same thing...what's so suprising or earthshattering? It seems to me he got involved with the Charvel thing more from an artpiece/memorabilia/collectible/novelty perspective than a "this is what I play" aspect.

As for getting hosed, that's all point of view. I think if you buy ANYTHING with the wrong intentions or expectations, you pretty much get hosed. Specifically speaking about guitars, I have three "signature" models. Yep, the signatures on them belong to players I really admire, but if the guitar wasn't "right" for me as a player, I wouldn't have bought them....just because it has someone's name on it, doesn't mean it's worth me buying, no matter how much I like the player UNLESS, I simply want to buy it out of loyalty and support for that artist...

wow...he went all of 20 seconds without reaching for his sustainer...a modern day Eddie Van Halen record. As far as him playing at a flower shop and whatever, if he wants to play there, good for him, maybe playing live will inspire the guy to put out another album and tour with someone.

As far as the signature model thing goes, if someone bought the new charvels because they believed that was Eddie was going to be using fulltime now, yeah you got hosed. Honestly with all the neck pickup work and sustainer work that the guy had done the past 10-15 years was there anyway on the planet that he was going to play a guitar that has only one pickup? doubtfull at best. As far as the wolfgang goes, I just have to laugh that peavey dumped him, i would love to see the wolfgangs and 5150's back into production and branded as such, he had such a sweet deal going with them. I think it would be classic if at the next house of pedals gig he does if he yanked out a Music Man EVH.

Agreed. I'd kill to hear him thru a 5150 stack and a EBMM. Those guitars are so fuckin sweet.

Actually, none of those. You know how Guitar Center sounds when you first walk in the door? That sound of 5 people playing 5 different things and none of it is any good? That's what this clip of Ed sounds like. I worship Ed as much as any of you, but man, this clip is really bad.
