View Full Version : DLR Radio Podcast Links (Post and Find Them Here!)
http://www.david.freefm.com/
Some of the material is available there, though I'm not sure where some of the guys are finding the direct download links for the podcasts. If some kind soul would explain that, I'm sure many people would appreciate it!
In the meantime, let's use this thread for posting DLR podcast links. We'll try to keep them in one place, rather than scattered amongst some different threads. Thanks! :)

CBS Radio is making the shows available for download and as Podcasts. Use this link in your RSS Reader, Mozilla/Firefox Live Bookmark, or Podcast capable device: http://www.david.freefm.com/pages/podcast/74.rss
You can find links to the older shows at the URL above. Don't know how long they are going to keep the older ones online though...

The feeds don't work very well as a live bookmark in Mozilla - just a bunch of 'DLR Radio' links with no date or time.
If you don't have an iPod you can just subscribe to the show using iTunes -- just use the 'Search All Podcasts' (in the Music Store) for David Lee Roth and you find the subscribe links.
Sorry if this is common knowledge but I just came across it...

Yep, they don't work very well as anything anymore. They screwed around with the feed this afternoon and now it's all messed up. Too bad.
On Friday iTunes had all the shows listed and avaiable for download. Each show had 4 segments with each segment representing an hour.
Today you can only download individual snippets from particular days.
Does anyone know what's up with that?
I'd much prefer a whole show as opposed to snippets.
Fanatic - make sure to subscribe to the podcast and then you can view the full versions in your 'podcasts' section (on the left under library).
I think the default behavior is to only see podcasts that you haven't listened to yet so you need to go to preferences - podcasts - and select keep 'all episodes'
Hope it helps

Thank you. I will try that.
It looks like they are still screwing around with the feed - I only see 2 partial shows now on each day. I wish they would figure out what they are going to podcast.
It's still not showing a full show, just the highlights. yet the vhnd and ddlr.com are posting full links, so they obviously still work. the question is, where do you find these?

Yes. I was going to post again saying that I'm sure I've done and checked everything correctly and there are still snippets and not whole shows.
Thanks for your input.
Anyone else notice that they turned down the bit-rate for the feeds? Now it sounds like listening to DLR over fringe FM. Ack. :(

This morning Dave said he would love to play a reunion for the super bowl..that he would do it in a minute. Then they started talking about what songs he would like to play if they got to do 3.
Dave also was asked what it would take to do a fullblown VH reun ion?
He said he calls them guys twice a year, every year and they simply dont return his calls.

In the 2nd part of Johnny Damon's interview, Dave mentioned his split with VH, saying that he wanted to keep on going (touring, recording) and the other guys wanted to lay low for a while and take a break from the road. Funny, how the original word was that Dave wanted to go to Hollywood to be a movie star...
Anyway, Johnny, who isn't the greatest speaker in the world, did say something great after Dave talked about his split. He said "what would our generation have done if there was no Van Halen?" Interesting question/point.
Dave is looking for more interns: http://david.freefm.com/pages/6182.php

For anyone interested in GOOD talk radio, in a provocative and well-done show, tune in and listen to the DLR show from today, 2-23-06.
IF dave continues to go this way, he has turned an important corner in becoming a viable and relevant talk show and will go a long way in boosting his career and ratings.
Maybe im overreacting a bit from my excitement on hearing dave take the next step in his evolution, but i couldn't turn it off today..
Give the whole show a listen.
The theme today was genetics..racial genetics..the Jimmy the greek discussion.. wait til you hear dlr and his gang AND the callers...
I really enjoyed the Shaun White interview.
I believe the Flying Tomato even got a guitar lesson from B Young. Pretty cool.
Seems like Dave's guests are getting better, and he has made an effort in part to let the guests be the focal point.
I also enjoyed the Henry Rollins interview. Cool hearing Dave and Rollins go back and forth telling stories about their travels.

DLR is on Vacation all next week, but he'll be back on March 6... Hang tight
The interview with Janine Driver yesterday was fascinating, interesting, and educational.

Really sad to hear Dave neutered. His show was awesome, IMO, before the BS...listen to the front of this...

dlr sounded very dejected this morning... it was sad... i actually enjoyed his concept... hell, what kind of format did cbs expect when they went and hired a guy whose whole career is based on being colorful, different and out there? the added bonus was that he sounded half-intelligent doing the show...
the station provided him with no guests for the first couple of weeks and he had to resort to bringing in family members to mimic having guests in...
the stupid letter of directives that they gave him (he read parts of it on the air) amounted to what is cbs covering their legal a$$es... it basically read like someone getting "written up" in the office for the purpose of documenting discipline with H.R.... i am betting that they are trying to develop a case where they can later fire him and not owe him the balance of his contract due to insubordination... very weak and short-term minded of cbs...
instead of helping to prop up dlr and supporting his show, they are taking a record label mentality to the whole thing... it's like when a new band on a major label doesn't go gold or platinum on their first record and they subsequently get dropped... dlr hasn't gotten the ratings yet but they yet expect to see something comparable to stern (like asking for a double-diamond album from a new band)...
love him or him, d ro's getting an unfair shake here...
