But it ain't wrong either. We've waited since the begining of Feb. That's when the rumors really started flying. Dave's tour didn't end until 15 Jan. So it's been 7 months. No big deal. What's another 7? As long as it happens, I'm happy.

Would somebody be so kind to post the rumor that this thread is talking about, so that we're all on the same page?

Yeah but we should at least get an announcement before then.

Oh Shermy... I emailed Brad on the subject. This is what it looked like:

Brad I have heard we wil not hear anything new from VH until 2001. Is this
true? Please confirm or deny this.

Nick

Only the band knows the answer to that question. http://208.50.7.95/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

2001??? Oh well, nothing we can do about it.
Although, I would like to hear a WORD OR TWO
from the band. That is the most frustrating thing about all of this.

Yeah, it'd be nice to hear a few good words other than "no news is good news." Since nothing has been confirmed, no news is bad news to me. I'd love to hear that they are indeed working on or completing an album, even if they don't address who the singer (cough, DLR) is.

While I definitly want a long term deal with DLR rather than a one time deal...I fail to see what the release date of the album has to do with that. Unless they're trying to work problems out personally before they finish up a record.

So you guys want to hear what you already know?

You know, I remember e-mailing Sherm a question back when the remasters were announced regarding if this was a sign that a new CD was following. Sherm's response was probably not, but the remasters will at least give us something to hold us over.

All this time, though, and nothing. Why?!? AUGHHHHHHHH........this is so frustrating.

Yes I myself do already believe DLR is back working with them. It's just that I'd feel much more comfortable hearing it come from the horses mouth. The reunion is not "official" until VH says so.

But like I was saying, I'd be happy hearing a "we're working on a new album" without addressing the DLR situation as well. But instead we're stuck with the worst kept secret in rock and roll...and a motherload of rumors.

Well, Dooby, we've all been feeling that way for about 9 months now. I only have so much ()*&ing patience! When a new album with DLR finally does come out, I'll be right there to purchase, but if something official doesn't break in the media real soon, it'll be a jaded and pissed off consumer plopping down the duckets. Not that it means a damn thing to VH.

From VH's perspective, the silence makes a whole lot of sense. If they say anything, they'll be hounded by the media to some degree. That would put pressure on the four of them, and raise a lot of questions that probably shouldn't be asked yet. Once they've got the album out, everything is fair game.

They know that it's not a secret. Why should they say anything? We already know the important parts, it's just the details we're missing. Too many things have happened over the course of this year to point to anything other than a reunion.

I'd rather have the band do this on their own terms, and with their own timing. Those guys are showmen, and I'm sure they know how to work this for the best effect. We'll be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor soon enough.

Seeing as this is really drifting from the rumor side of things to opinions, I think I'll move this.
