At the time I started the site I was a huge VH fan yes, and had been for at the time 20 years. Now I rarely listen to VH, barely post on anything having to do with the band. I'm pretty indifferent to all of it, and am probably less than a casual fan at this point.

Look babe, I am a COLLOSSAL Dave fan, have been for over 25 years. His voice and style and energy cannot be beaten. I LOVE classic Van Halen, but I have nothing against Sammy Hagar. I'm not keen on his solo stuff but like the stuff he did with Van Halen. It never will feel or have the same effect on me as the CVH stuff but I still enjoy it. Here's the rub...

I dont feel the need to hate one singer to enjoy the other.

If any of you know about the history of Infiniti radio and their track record with "all talk" formats on FM you will see that chances are Dave's show will not be successful. First and foremost, as a producer Infiniti has hared Al Dukes, the former producer of the Ron and Fez Show. Al Dukes in the past has had little or no respect for the shows he produces. This was way back in 2002 and I don't think he has changed since then.

Secondly, with the stellar tallent like "Penn" from Penn and Teller, The Radio Chick, and some other no-name guy, 92.3 will take in the radings. The folks at infiniti would have done better just leaving Dave in the morning slot. Look at what happened at WNEW when OnA were gone. The same will happen with Stern now departing for Sirius. How many formats has WNEW gone through since the "hot talk" format. About 5?

Dave is funny and insightful, however he has a MAJOR uphill battle. Between filling the shoes of Hoo Hoo, Howie... Moving many different markets without a tried and tested product, and other issues within the radio business it should be interesting to say the least. But I see Dave done in 6 months, KROCK turning to a spanish FM station, and Dave's radio career shortly lived.

from everything i read, rock radio was dying in NYC anyways. hell, even in Cleveland, the oldies, country, and urban stations get better ratings than the rock stations.

Anyone know what his format will be? Will he involve music at all? Or is it gonna be all talk?

from what i read today (check 'em out here (http://www.diamonddavidleeroth.com/forums/showthread.php?p=197854#post197854)), it sounds like he's going to play short loops instead of full songs. gonna be interesting, to say the least.
