All I have to ask is WHY?
He could be doing better things....well I guess he is by playing to a live audience!
This has already been started in the rumours room....until then, have a great time checking out DLR live!

Cool!

Since he is the best interview-ee, I guess it would mean that he would be a decent interview-er.

Yeah good for Dave...I think he can do a fine job. Just wondering how he'll react to those who criticize him for not being the original. heh

Stern isn't replacable...the revenue the guy generated is staggering.

DLR would be a great listen....but not sure of his shelf life....a couple of shifts here and there keeps him fresh, but day after day of stories of roaming jungles and whatever the diamond one will recite would get boring.

Yeah, I agree.

I feel bad for whoever replaces Stern, they will always be held up to a certain level of expectation that can never be acheived, always compared to the original innovator............hmmmm this sounds familiar? :sssh: :p

It is interesting. DLR has always been a Stern favorite. I am afraid though anyone who is going to replacing Stern is going to be in a no win situation.

DLR has zero chance of replacing Stern successfully. No offense to Dave.

I don't get it. What is so great about Howard Stern? This is his show in a nutshell. Get some women to get naked and degrade themleves and talk about sex. Find homeless people, crazy people, criminals and the lowest possible forms of life and humiliate them on the show. Spend the rest of the time talking about nothing like tivo, eye surgery or Howards boring everyday insecurities. Damn! Why didn't I think of that! I just don't get why he has this following. His movie was good. But I really don't think he is this misunderstood nice guy fighting for his rights like the movie portrayed him.

I wish Dave the best. I love listening to him. He's got his own vibe, he's very well read and articulate, making him able to go on and on and on. His humor is one-of-a-kind. I'm pulling for him to succeed. :thumb:

Good for Dave! I think him replacing Hoo Hoo would be excellent. Will he be as big as Stern no, but much more entertaining. Also the fact that he has done some radio in the past and has been successful at it gives him a good shot. I heard this on Opie and Anthony this morning myself.

Hey Robin I invented fake radio... Hoo hoo hoo, tell 'em fred.

I think Dave would make a pretty good radio show host. Give him a try!

Well, he'll win in one situation; his bank-book situation.

I think Roth would be an excellent replacement, going by the radio stuff I've heard him do earlier this year.....and he can actually make some money again!!! :p

I think this would be the ultimate let down for any Van HALEN fan though, because this assuredly (if taken with other rumors and it turns out to be true) would mean the end of any possible new VAN HALEN, much less a tour. It would be the final nail in the coffin of hope.

I'd have to agree with that.

Umm, I would be shocked if Dave ever fronted VH again. Life moves on and evolves. We may never have any VH ever again if Ed doesn't get his shit together.....

If Dave does well at this, which he will, I hope, this will be good for any future reunion that might happen.

There is no reason Roth can't be a DJ and then take a few weeks off to tour with VH.

If Dave doesn't work out for them, they could always replace him with Sammy....

DLR replacing Stern? That's got "TRAINWRECK" written all over it. And we know how much people love gawking at trainwrecks. :D

Already have this going in the rumor mill so I'll close this up for now.

Good for Dave by the way.
