Some folks over at the DLRML are making some noise about Dave jamming wit ha guitarist named Vinnie Moore? (I think that was his name - I already deleted the messages like a dumbass) They are also saying that the new DLR Band album is due out in February and a new Dave single is pending in the next few weeks to tide the fans over until the new album is released.
What do you guys think?

Why would someone release a single in August and then wait until February to release an album? Any attention the single gets will be long gone in that amount of time.
I'm not even going to touch that one.
Unless...unless that single were to belong to a soundtrack? Then an early single release would make sense. Vinne Moore is an excellent guitarist, but since DLR has already written some with Bart Walsh I'd be surprised if he didn't continue with Bart Walsh. Who knows though. All in all it would be bad news in terms of a reunion http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/cry.gif
Vinnie Moore is a divinity of the guitar world. He's sorta of a Malmsteen-meets-compositions, in the sense he's got the chops but he can compose some good instr. music too.

I could see Dave releasing a single very early. Slam Dunk and King of The Hill were released a bit before the record, but not that far.
The reason is pretty simple. It's DLR's own label. To cut costs, he presses each individual CD himself. That makes for a really long run up to having enough to distribute. That DLR Band CD that you've got was made by Dave. Look for the fingerprints.

Ok I'm gonna shoot this one down! I currently work with a Luthier by the name of Nick Bucci. Nick was and is Vinnie's teacher. Vinnie is still at home in New Castle Delaware. He has nothing to do with Dave. Both Nick and Vinnie have confirmed that if Dave ever called Vinnie, that we would know. Sorry to say this but, who ever is telling you that is full of SHIT! BIG TIME. I also don't understand why Dave would fire his band and start a new one with someone else. That just isn't Dave.

Vinnie Moore is more of an instrumental guitarist. He was one of Shrapnel Records main Shredders of the late '80s. This is the company that first brought us Jason Becker and Marty Freidman.

Gee, and I thought ya might have meant that Dave was jamming with me! (since I play drums)http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif
But seriously, that ain't a good rumour to hear, especially if it turns true.
I don't know what to think about this one.

No, no, no...
You are ALL wrong!
Dave was jamming with DINTY Moore!!! As in jamming it in his mouth. I should know, my best friend's Godfather waited on him in checkout at the Super K.
Ya see how all these rumors get started?!

Hey Rick S, yeah it's to bad Mid Atlantic Closed but I guess it's ok that MTJ bought it. It was a great place to buy Wolfgang's and 5150's. I think the reason why it flopped was it's placement. It was just freaky going there ya know? Has Nick ever showed you any of his prised guitars? His stuff kicks major ass. He helps me out all the time with that stuff. I don't actually live in DE. I live in West Grove Pa, which is just up 896. Does that sound fermiliar? I usually go guitar shopping in King Of Prussia becasue Accent Music wants an arm and a leg. My friend Dave at MTJ can get me deals on guitars it's just that they never really have what I'm looking for.

yeah the guy who bought mid atlantic is cool..he s still sellin peavey wolfs and he just got in a 5150 2 half stack...i just ordered a peavey prowler combo from him...he seems a little new to peavey stuff but he s very interested in what customers want and is cool to shoot the shit with...im still tryin to explain to him that the solid color wolf standards come with a basswood top and are cheaper than the maple tops lol....hes sellin the solids for 1300.00 but im tryin to get him down to 1100.00 the only thing i liked about mid atlantic was you could always barter with them....as far as accent music i dont like them at all way to expensive and all their guitars are entry level !!! heres a little experiance i had with them...one time i put a depoisit on a used real n4 nuno washburn ..well the dumbass sales man quotes me the price for the korean model about 389.00..i say your sure? he says yup and gives me the receipt and price i tell the manager he says shit we gave you the written price guess you lucked out..i come back the next day with my balance...uhhhhh sorry the guitar fell off the shelf in the back and the neck broke..can i see it? uuuhh no we threw it out but heres your depoisit back....well guess if it wasnt for me they would have sold it as a korean made.(it even had the price tag and korean written on it !! lol ).

So they're still selling Wolfgang's huh. Maybe I'll go down there and see if I can get that MK2. I need a new amp. $1300 is way to much for solid colored wolfgang. Last time Nick and I did some work on a wolfie I believe it had a cheap maple top on a cheap basswood body. Some customer of his wanted a new top... At the old Mid Atlantic didn't they sell transparent wolfie's for $1300? I remember a gold top special going for $775. I'm in the works for buying a new wolfgang maybe I'll go down there and bug the shit out of them until they lower it. THe guys from MTJ are easy when you get under their skin haha.
jim
now Accent Music. Never buy anything from them. I was in the new store on 202 last week. They had USED Fender Strat 60's reissues going for more then buying them NEW out of Musicians Friend! Same guitar
Adam, thanks for updating us on this rumor. No, I do not believe it to be true. Because, I really believe Dave is back in VH because their are more of those rumors. No facts mind you. Anyways I sure as hell hope it is not true bro. Again, thanks for sharing dude. Keep up the good work and keep fucking ROCKING!!!!VH FOREVER
