That was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Two comments.
1) That was clearly a demo version of the song, and they laid it over the in concert footage.
2) What the hell were they thinking when they hid Michael Anthony's bass on the actual record.

there's a ton of videos on there. just do a search fof vh.
They got that video from a show called Radio 1990 that used to be on the USA network in 1984! They would talk to bands, play videos, and they had DLR on that week! Thay talk to him and each day would play a video! One day thay played Dance the night away, next three days they played So this is love, Unchained, Pretty Woman, and ended up with Jump! I taped that week, and have it somewhere! I need to put it on DVD!
I could tell it was from that show because of the font used in the begining that sez the band, and song name!

That version of "Dance The Night Away" is absolutely incredible! I have it as it was included on this (http://www.vhboots.com/eruptionmediacollection.html) DVD. Eddie's false harmonics are out of this world. One of VH's best tracks, in my opinion!

I am pretty sure that this is not a demo laid over concert footage......the VHS I have of this sounds pretty convincing to me that it is real.
Wow, never saw that before. Sometimes we all need a reminder of why we became fans to begin with.

The audio is definitely not a "demo" of DTNA. They may have polished the audio in post-production, but the performance was live.

It may be a live performance, but the song doesn't match the video seen on the screen. You can clearly tell the footage is spliced together.

I agree its not a demo. Dave sounds like he is singing live. They have 3 or so cameras going so they did splice it. Nothing different than Right Here Right Now.

OK - how do I save this to my computer? Is this possible? It's only letting me save the link. I've saved other videos, but this is not working for me. I'm clueless. Help.

There are videos of "Bottoms Up!" and "You're No Good" from this same show from the 1979 World Tour. The one for "Bottoms Up!" is totally awesome. Like, totally.

Pause it for a couple minutes and let it load. That should solve the delay problem.
Thanks for posting the vid. Have never seen it.

yes, that was it, not sgmad.
I've got these three songs on a DVD, too, and I wish the quality was better. We talked about this in a different forum a long time back, and I believe the general consensus was that it was probably "enhanced live" like the Stones did with "Got Live If You Want It." Basic track recorded live, then enhanced in the studio.
I've always wondered too, if there's more live footage from that show somewhere. Thanks for posting this!

One of my favorites, I think the boys made this and it was played on Don Kischners rock concert show, from the 70's.

Those videos are great stuff. The limo, the popcorn or something Eddie got in the air, the "Hello!" thing, the 03 songs, everything. Classic Van Halen at its best.

, the "Hello!" thing,
The Three Stooges bit was classic!
The band also did a cool 2001 Theme(accapella) at a Detroit 1980 radio interview.
