First off...i love both the Roth and Sammy era of Van Halen and I have always loved Michael Anthony. I don't believe that "Chickenfoot" will take off. Who will they listen to them...other than die hard Sammy Hagar and some Van Halen fans. That is not enough for them to prove they are 10x Van Halen.

Van Halen are true legends like the Stones, led zeppelin, Aerosmith and this younger generation are oblivious to what good music is...they flat out suck...they're wimps. They want to listen to no talent, stupid bullshit like hip hop or those 4 pussies from (fall out boy).

I play in a cover band called MODERN RELIC (see us on youtube.com or myspace) and we cover all of the above bands and all I can say is "thank God for my true rockin' generation" that supports us every night. The young ones come up in between our sets when the DJ puts on "oh hot damn this is my jam" or they want to hear something from Cold Play...

My point is...where is Chickenfoot's market going to be....it's sad, but it will probably fizzle like all other Hagar projects. i hope not!!

This couldn't have been said in the other six Chickenfoot threads?

I think you are underestimating the market for this grouping. You've got Sam fans, Van Halen fans, Chili Peppers fans, and Satriani fans all looking to check this project out.

And all of Sam's solo projects can hardly be said to have fizzled. Check out one of his tours, look at the crowd around you. He's got a cornered market with his Redhead fanbase, of that you can be sure.

You have obviously never listened to XM/Sirius Radio and heard of Boneyard or Hair Nation. They will play the poop out of this CD and I'm sure Eddie Trunk will play it up as well. I think it will do fine for the times.

And let's not forget how awful Velvet Revolver and Audioslave did with their 6 combined albums and massive tours. ;) If it weren't for Scott Weiland and Chris Cornell wanting to quit, they would still be going strong.

And if your logic is true then Van Halen won't have a market for a new album either outside of die hard Van Halen fans. And don't kid yourself...there are no where near as many as there was in 1984.

Post in the existing threads when possible, guys. Nothing new here.
