Note: Due to anticipated attendance, autographs will be first come, first served. Chickenfoot will only be signing their new self titled album, "Chickenfoot".

It also means leave your Red Rocker, RHCP, Satriani, etc., memorabilia at home. With the different bands these guys have been in and the longevity they've had in their careers, signing anything but the CD could seriously fuck up the in-store appearance. People could show up with shitloads of stuff for them to sign. Plus, most of it ends up on eBay anyhow. I don't fault anyone for instating this policy.

Seems like a good deal to me. For the price of the album you get 4 awesome signatures. Who knows, it could be Best Buy's policy.

Van Halen would do the same thing if they did a signing like this. Only because that's pretty much the protocol for just about every single band when it comes to in-store signings. I know I've been to book signings at Border's where the author will only sign the book he or she is selling. This isn't unusual.

You and plenty of others are trying to nitpick for something wrong with this project, and you're all failing miserably.

Nothing wrong with making money. I'm pretty sure everyone of us wake up every morning with the idea that we will make some money today. How many people will CF employee this year or help to pay employees? I would guess ten's of thousands from the security guys at the studio to the parking lot guy and ticket takers at the venues.

I have no problem with these guys making a few bucks for their art. BTW guys sign a few copies of the artwork for your grandchildren.

just pre ordered mine on best buy website..if they were going to be doing an in store signing somewhere close by here i would gladly pay the grand total of 10.71 (with tax) to get the signatures of these guys...bottom line is if you don't have 10 bucks available don't bother..and don't bitch...

I respect that people aren't into CF. I also respect that some people aren't happy with VH. It's a shame others can't respect alternate opinions without giving a tongue lashing.

I don't think anyone is harshing too much on CF. People have a right to not dig it and express thier opinions. So far it's much more respectful and less confrontational than some dudes were b4, during, and after the successful 07/08 Van Halen tour.

Being a fan of a band, liking music, the lineup, etc it's all subjective and different for all of us. One persons ideal of what is good might not be mine and visa versa. I actually dig VH 4 and hopeful. I'm enjoying CF too.

I don't think people should get ugly with each other over this stuff. I see it starting.

As long as someone isn't being totally nasty and trolling for problems insulting people, let them express their opinions without the "you just don't get it, I know better" attitudes. It's not personal. I could give a shit if you like CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT or not. It's just lame to say "look they won't sign anything other than their new CD, that must mean you guys are hypocrites for baggin on Ed and his merchandise". Now, I know you didn't say that specifically, but you pretty much did. Here's why it's not the same:

- CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT is putting out an album.
- CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT is going on tour.
- CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT has a cool web presence.
- CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT is going on a cool small venue tour before heading to Europe.

So on top of all that aforementioned activity, they also have an album signing which I personally think is cool as shit. So the guidelines are that they're only signing the new album. I personally think it's a good policy for several reasons (they're promoting their new band, it's at a store that is involved with that specific product, they're moving forward, they don't have time to accomodate every person and item that person wants to bring up).

Can you explain to me how any of what CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT CHICKENFOOT is doing is even remotely similar to EVH? Why would I attack VH fans? I'm an open-minded person who would LOVE to see a new Van Halen album. If the album ends up sucking, it ends up sucking. I've never attacked a fan for having a different opinion, that's why I've been around here for so long without getting the boot. It's those who push certain issues, especially against former members of Van Halen, to an extent that drives people nuts.

I do. It depends on the artist and location. That Pico Best Buy will be a zoo on a Friday nite for these guys. Rabid redheads will start lining up by noon, I predict, for a frickin' 8 pm signing. I'd hazard an estimate you could get your CD signed and meet the guys if you get in line by 4-5 pm. Any later, and you risk missing out being too far back in what almost certainly will be a long ass line - they're pretty clear about it being 'first come first served,' which just means they def have a time limit and are expecting a high turnout--you can count on them not staying longer than two hours (8-10 pm). If you're still in line at 10 pm, I think you'd be outta luck. But you never know.

So basically, take the day off and bring a cooler of snacks and drinks, unless you have someone you can trade off with to make food/water runs.

I think you could leave work early at 3, get there by 4-5, and get your CD signed, sure. But that does require at a minimum standing in line for at least four to six hours. That's beyond my capabilities in terms of autograph seeking, and believe me, the quick meet n' greet part of it, while alluring to most, will be VERY quick, the security and Best Buy folk will be rolling folks through like a cattle call. If they were allowing personal pix to be taken with the boys, I'd maybe consider it, but they're not. You'll hand their your CD / record (btw, anyone going really ought to buy the vinyl to be signed, not the CD, duh), they'll run it down their line of four, you MIGHT be able to get some handshakes at best, but possibly not. Staff will certainly outline what you can and can't expect when you get up to the front.

Yep. That'll be a Best Buy protocol, count on it. If everyone in line got to take pix with the guys, it would take forever. That's why they're labeling it a 'signing' and not a 'meet n' greet,' the latter generally tends to allow picture taking, the former not. Me, I'm a collector of signed VH-related memorabilia as some know, but I figure the autographed limited edition poster the VIP package includes will cover my immediate gratification impulse for 'Foot souvenirs...I'm wondering if it's just going to be a signed version of the one already offered at the store (see below) or if it's a different print entirely. I presume 'limited edition' means it's a different version. Guess I'll find out on Tuesday.
