I maintain that Sammy is best when he writes the lyrics and leaves the music to others (i.e. Van Halen, CUF, etc.). Hopefully, MA and CS will write good melodies that SH can sing over.

I'm assuming that Sammy is asking Joe if he's using the new pedal. While I look forward to it, I wish they had Deen Castronova on drums (from the original Planet US) and not Chad Smith. Deen is sick. Saw him with Bad English in 1989 (and Journey since) and that guy knows how to play for the song!!!! Also, has a great voice and could have done some great backgrounds with MA.

Seriously anyone who can dig the first Bad English album out -- listen to the way Deen plays those songs. He hides some great shit in the accents, drives the rockers and lays back on the ballads. A highly underated album.

Sounds cool! I love bass players who can play one note and make it sound great! Wish they put up a longer clip though!

Also I gotta say that I'm glad they're keeping the name Chickenfoot. I think it's cool.

Sounds like just a live demo in the studio. It'll be cool, though, if they keep that simple four-piece rock groove thing going on. I'm psyched for this album.

He is a much better drummer than evidenced by his playing with the Peppers. I am so psyched for a straight forward rock record!

I really like it so far! It was the type of groove and tone I was hoping for. Sammy loves releasing stuff early through Itunes with a single every now and then, hopefully this follows that same path cuase I wanna hear the whole thing.

personally i didnt like the sample, for me it was lacking something that i cant quite put my finger on, but no doubt the full album release will provide us with some great moments.
i shall remain optimistic for now.

It is nice to actually be able to hear the bass in the mix without playing without playing with the controls on your player!

As nice as it is to hear Mike's bass loud and proud, I'm personally waiting on pins and needles to hear his and Sam's blended backing vocals again. :bounce:

I you haven't heard Joe's guitar playing live before you are in for a major treat. His guitar tone and musical performance live is outstanding. He has a huge warm tone. It's striking. Putting that with Sam's voice and Mike live should be very powerful. With the catalog of tunes they can play it will be a very fun show to see imo.

I'm excited to hear the CD. I posted a long time ago here that Satch would be a good match for Sam and Mike. Joe never intended to be a solo/instrumental artist. It worked out that way for him and many of his riffs and tunes over the years are begging to be part of a "real" band imo. I'm excited to hear this CD for many reasons. I'm not a Sammy guy but I respect his unfaltering abilities and think this could be a gem. Hope so.

100% agree - Joe is a great live act. He is pretty much the "frontman" for his shows, and he is very energetic in his playing.

This should be great, the more we discuss it the more I anticipate this release.
