Do all of you know that VH put in there Venue contracts for the venue to take all of the brown M&M's out of the bowl? If they walked to their dressing rooms and saw brown M&M's Van Halen knew that the venue didn't read the contract!!! Pretty Funny!!! Does anyone know what VH did if there was brown M&M's in the bowl??

They would wreck whatever establishment or venue they were staying at.

If you look in Dave's book pages 97-99 he explains the whole thing. It wasn't about luck or self-indulgence.
It just was a way to see if the promoter had paid attention to the contract for safety purposes.

Yep I heard that! I saw a picture of Ed and Val supposedly taken on the very first night they met and she actually gave him a bag of M&Ms.

One time, Al had thrown Ed's table and chairs out the window of his room. This was in the winter and the screen was out and there they were down in the snow. So he thought it was Dave who did it, so he went into Dave's room and brought the chairs and tables into his room, but someone called the cops. So when the cops come they couldn't figure out what was going on because the screen was out in Ed's room, but the furniture was there, and the screen was in Dave's room without furniture.

And they used to trash Journey's rooms when they toured with them because Journey wasn't treating them right.

My personal fav is Dave telling about glueing what ever was on the floor on the ceiling. They would use road reflector cement and take the bed, suitcases, phone, furniture and glue them to the ceiling, mirror image style. Hell I imagine that would be quite a site if you were wasted out of your head.

At my graduation party, I had a bowl of M&M's with the brown ones removed. I didn't tell anyone why, or point out the fact that there were no brown ones. I was afraid they'd think I was too VH-obsessed. I say they were pretty lucky I didn't stripe everything in sight at the party.
