It's a bootleg, not too good of quality, but fucking awesome.
Thank YouTube. :)

That's the best hi definition clip I've ever seen. I never knew that Ed used his pinky more for the harmonics in spanish fly.

Is there any way to save Utubes stuff to my hard-drive?
Not knowing computers very well, I've always wondering if you can save that youtube stuff to your hard drive as well.

Although I've never tried it, I've noticed that Google at least has a download button. It's just that Utube has the only Jump vid I've ever seen, but you can't "Save As"

Cool. The gtr he uses there was always an ultra cool design.
As far as saving clips like that, I think you can "Save as" to the desk top,
and thenwith the link still active , open the saved file with
Quicktime Pro and export it from there to your HD. I would try it right now,
but my desk top is occupied with a render for 2 more hrs...

Very nice solo. Thanks a lot for the link, Kevy.
Seems to me Eddie is using his Star guitar. I love that one. :)

Forget about saving from YouTube, I want to know where is this sourced from, who has it, and how much additional footage is there on that tape. No one has ever shared any LIVE VH footage from 1980 (as far as I know) so I'm wanting to get the low down on this clip.

That was awesome! I always have tears streaming down my face when he plays Spanish Fly live! GOD I LOVE THIS BAND!!!
And good call on the video source - where's this coming from and why isn't there more?

Ha! I'm streaming Dave's show with this clip underneath it.
Finally the reunion we've been waiting for.
Wow. I had no idea Dave had gotten so angry and O'Reilly.
I've seen this before just never through a camera lense, sober and sitting in my office before. The 1980 tour was one of my favorites.

Doesn't it just piss you off that you know VH has all this classic shit on tape and it may die with them, never seeing the light of day to the public?
It just sucks that nearly every band that matters has some cool box set of CD's and rare video, but not our VH. It' so frustrating.

Almost to the end it absolutely sounds like the opening riff in Pleasure Dome. :thumb:

Great stuff. Thanks! :)
I'm pretty sure that's that star-shaped guitar he used on that, like the one in this pic

It's definitely not a Destroyer, or even his "chainsawed" Destroyer.

Has anyone tried asking the guy for the DVD? If they haven't, I will try. I just want to know if someone has already tried.

That was really cool. Dave sounded excellent on those....IMO he was much better than on other stuff I've seen.

It's definitely not a Destroyer, or even his "chainsawed" Destroyer.
This guitar was a prototype for Charvel that Ed helped design and he road tested during the 1980 tour. It was obviously based on Ed's original red/back/white stripped chopped up Destroyer as seen on the back of the WaCF album band photo but taken a couple steps further. I don't recall if Charvel actually went into production with this guitar or not but I think it's unlikely.
This guitar was originally plain white when Ed posed with it and about 10 other guitars in the often reproduced photo of Ed from early 1980 who wore a purple/pinkish jumpsuit with a pick ax slung over his shoulder. At some point before Ed took it on the road for the WaCF tour, he had it painted with a complicated black over white strip pattern as seen in the photo below.

Great solo by Eddie. This is a good topic for the You Tube forum.
