Well I think that best album ever from The Mighty Van Halen was Balance , itīs a very good album , with 12 songs (for u.s. market)and 13 songs (for asian market).
Too much people thinks that the grat album ever was 5150 ,and ,well...maybe they arenīt wrong , but every single song from Balance show us the great performers that Sammy,Eddie,Alex and Mike are.
Even instrumental songs have a great feelings without lyrics, and well i think who needs lyrics with that amazing drums ,guitar bass and of course WOLFGANG GUITAR.
But another songs are pretty fine too...
special Songs like "Canīt stop lovinīyou" , "Amsterdam" , "Donīt tell me","Not Enought" and of course my favorite song (from asian version) "Crossing Over"..
And ...well the Balance Tour ,I canīt forget it,incredible performing , in special unrealesed song "Eagles Fly"...
Well last, every VH album was great but the greatest ... is BALANCE.

I think Balance is a great album. It's a toss up between it and 5150 as the best album of the Sammy era. Just for the record, I'm pretty sure Balance was done before the Wolfgang guitar was developed.http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

I COMPLETELY agree, (except for the 'greatest album ever' part http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif )
I LOVE the album all the way through, except for the piano and drum instrumentals, but Baluchitherium kicks some major ass. I love Crossing Over a lot too. I remember the first time I heard it, and it was like new VH to me, because it was after Gary left, and I was bummed that VH might call it quits. When I found that song on the internet (along with 'That's Why I love You', I was so excited.

Watch out you don't get blasted by some of the die-hard-Roth fans, they don't like threads praising Sammy or Gary in VH, especially with a title like this thread has. Just some 'fair warning'.
peace

strungout, pop on over to AD. I'll throw you a beer. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gif

I doubt EUAS will flame crossing_over.

He's only stating his opinion, nothing wrong with that. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

Now, they disagree with what he says, of course, but since he didn't bash Dave they've got no problem with him. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gif

I don't think that Balance was the best album, not by far, but I still love it.

"Can't Stop Loving You" isn't Van Halen's best song either, in my opinion, but I like it.

It's seen by a lot of people to be sappy. That's OK by me.

It's just opinions. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/cool.gif

I agree that Balance is a great album, but in the Sammy era I like F.U.C.K. and 5150 better. While I was listening to F.U.C.K. the other day, I started thinking, "Damn, I love all of these songs." I love listen to Right Here, Right Now because the songs are live.

Strungout, shut up. It's that simple. The reason a lot of thing happen is because of things like that, that you just said. "they don't like threads praising Sammy or Gary in VH" That is what causes retaliation. Hell, I didn't jump on him when he said Jump was better with Hagar singing it. Don't let your tongue warble around in your mouth like that. Besides no one from EUAS comes in here regularly unless I notify them to.

The reason I told you to shut is cause it would get your attention. If you say something like that, all your going to do is piss them off. It's like when someone else tries to get the last word in. Understand?

Balance and 5150 go back and forth as my favorite Sammy-era albums, with Balance coming out on top most of the time. I've always thought that Balance was the best "sounding" or produced album. Really full and clean sounding. Ed's playing was killer as well. He probably ripped it up more on Balance than he did on any other album with Sammy. The only song I don't like on the album is Big Fat Money. They should have replaced that one with Crossing Over, IMO. Overall, it's definitely one of my all-time favorite VH albums.

I have never been able to get into Balance. Something about that album just didn't feel right to me. I think my favorite Sammy era VH album was FUCK.

Everybody's got their own opinions. It is crossing_over's opinion that "Balance" is the best album and that "I Can't Stop Loving You" is the best song.

As much as we might disagree with them, no one should shit on somebody else's perspectives.

I disagree with him on both statements, but he's entitled to make them and NOT get hassled.

I mean I agree with most of you that it's their opinions and tastes and we shouldn't bash them. Heck there's a couple of people that think 3 was the best album!!! http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/eek.gifhttp://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gif

crossing_over has every right to post their opinion. That's totally cool.

Although I really like Balance, I wouldn't personally agree that it's the best VH album. But that's ok...that's just my opinion.
My 2 favorite VH albums would have to be Fair Warning and 5150... But that's just MY opinion!

Balance was really different and I liked the way it looked like the band was heading after that album came out. F.U.C.K was my favorite Sammy era album, but Balance was probably second. My favorite off that album was the 7th Seal.

I think Balance is a damn fine record. "Aftershock", "Baluchiterium", "Seventh Seal", and "Crossing Over" are my faves.
The Balance show in Ottawa was INCREDIBLE!!!

i don't agree, lead synth does http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif, but i don't. i'm listening to balance right now (aftershock at the moment, that's a good tune) and it's an awesome album, but not the best. can't stop lovin you is good, but i'm only in the mood for it sometimes. i'm always in the mood to listen to the seventh seal, though. that's the best sammy song!!!!
well, my favorite anyway. i'm listening to the last part of afershock with that kickass solo, and that's awesome as well.

you have to be kidding me...Balance was terrible. Nothing about that album was Van Halen. I have to admit they have sucked from "RHRN" untill today...it's too bad because they were fun, fun, fun untill F.U.C.K.
