View Full Version : Best Album of the 90's
Van Halen is the greatest in my book , always will be but I can't let that blind me to other great bands and albums . My choice for album of the 1990's is U2 Achtung Baby .
I could rattle on about how great it is but the only thing I can tell you is if you have not heard it , go out and get it . You can listen to this from start to finish . There is no scraps of fatty meat on this CD .
My top 3 90's CD's are
1.U2 :Achtung Baby
2.Creed :My Own Prison
3.Van Halen :Live RHRN
These are just my personal faves ......

With the exception of one album I'm going to list, I thought the whole grunge thing was an awful mistake, any of those boring, depressed, half-assed Seattle grunge bands can kiss my ass. Those guys made being depressed a "cool" thing!
Stone Temple Pilots-Purple
Def Leppard-Euphoria
U2-Achtung Baby
Lenny Kravitz-Are You Gonna Go My Way
Van Halen-Balance
Rob Zombie-Hellbilly Deluxe

Vic, that last post was pretty depressing! Pass the Zoloft please... http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gif
STP is rock, not grunge (IMO). And those guys are great, I don't care what the critics say...
"Seize the day/pull the trigger/drop the blade/and watch the rolling heads/yeah.."
Now, how is THAT depressing!?!? http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

Van Halen - For UCK
Collective Soul - Dosage
Metallica - Metallica

nice to see so much appreciation for Achtung Baby.
it's my pick for album of the 90s, hands down. it covered so much ground and broke just as much new ground at the same time.
Van Halen's 90s releases were really good, but i can't honestly say that they elevated their game until the 3 new songs on Best Of.
Jagged Little pill is damn near perfect musically, but those whiny, yodeling vox ruin it IMO.
