View Full Version : Aussie Rules football 2005 - pre season mailout list
Hey hey
As I've done for the past 3 years, I'll run another AFL tipping competition this year. The season proper begins at the end of March
But next week the pre season 'Wizard Cup' com begins. Its a knockout tournament and (same as last year) I'll do a short mailout of results each week for anyone interested over in North Americaland
Given half the teams treat the Pre Season comp as a bit of a joke anyway, its hardly worth running a thread about or anything, but anyone intending to join the tipping comp proper when it starts might find it useful
So if you want in, or are considering joining the AFL tipping this year, or whatever, PM me an email addy to add to the mailout list.
First round of games is :-
Collingwood v Richmond
Fremantle v West Coast
Western Bulldogs v Sydney
Hawthorn v St Kilda
Brisbane v Melbourne
Kangaroos v Geelong
Carlton v Essendon
Adelaide v Port Adelaide
Rock on and shit. Footys nearly back :good:
Do you still have the e-mail addresses of last year players, Goo, or do we need to send them to you?
Should have most of them, unless they're changed or whatever. I got yours at any rate dude

Count me back in, mate. :thumb:
My email addy is still the same at this point. Let me know if you need it....like if you sat on it .... or accidentally tossed it with an old moldy crusty pizza box ... or if you sold it to Rachel Ray (in which case I owe you a hefty check in the mail! :D ).
Better PM it to me bro, not exactly sure how outta date yours is.

Goo, how are the Pies shaping up for Friday night? Do you think they're taking it seriously? I think the Tiges we'll be going out to win - Terry Wallace will want to get some early runs on the board, but I don't think he's going to show all his tricks.
I'm so glad the Footy's almost back, after an insipid summer of Cricket.
I think the Today Show has their wires crossed.
Not that I saw it this morning but a couple of my mates did and told me that Essendon v Collingwood on Anzac day is to be played in Sydney.
That's crazy if true,I thought there was already a game up there on Anzac Day.The y must be confused.
Essendon will lose to Carlton in the Wizard Cup - no Lloyd or Hird.
Goo,thanks for running the comp again - your a good fella even if you are a Maggie.
I'm hoping Commissioner Goo takes the initiative regarding steroid testing this year. DIF is juiced up. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it! :yell:
Wray - do they show any AFL over in the states mate?
No, they don't. That sucks, too, because I'd really like to see the game in action...

The AFL is at fault then for not dealing with a sports station over there, they are always crapping on about making the game expand globally and yet in the States you guys are unable to watch it.
I thgink there is an AFL league over there which ex-pats started up.

You're right, Sydney and Melbourne are trying to turn the ANZAC day clash into a tradition, up in Sydney.

Wouldn't surprise me. I was at the ANZAC day clash between the Bombers and the Swannies last year and it made for a great national spectacle.
Correct me if I am wrong but isnt Anzac day the day that Australia rememebers those fallen in wars?

Correct. ANZAC Day (Australia & New Zealand Army Corps) 25th April.

Errr... Collingwood and Essendon play on Anzac day mate. Musta been another day
BTW the Sydney/ Melbourne thing sorta died a quiet death after one or 2 years I think didnt it? They play that weekend this year but not on Anzac day itself

Must've been another day cause there was a minute silence before the kick-off.

Hola, minions.
The King is back and he is holding court. Yes, I know, some of you were hoping... praying... that sneaking the footy thread into the Play Ball forum would throw thrid-person-speaking DIF off his game. Please.
DIF's game is tighter than a kid's sphincter at Neverland.
We may want to re-name this trophy The North American AFL Cup, its not like the Cup has ever been to Australia.

Them fighting words from our American friends. Bring on the tipping. I have a feeling the trophy will be headed Down Under this year.
Just be leery if you hear anyone mention the name 'Conte' :sssh:

That's what they said about a little yacht race back in the 80s.
Goo will you be conducting the urine test this season or will that be outsourced? What is the deadline for having those mailed to you?

I think DIF, Glann and myself are taking this a bit more seriously than the boat race. I gaurentee you that we are spending more money training.

Shouldn't that post be in the Steroids thread?
:D

The steroid test, or the taste test? I'll be outsourcing the second one, pretty sure of that!
