I've been looking at the new Jacksons. Let me get a little more detailed: It's a dinky strat with the Flame Trans Blue finish with a reverse headstock. Anybody own one of these models? Let me know how they are. I love the flat chrome finish on the tremelo assembly! Speaking of which is the wham ok. I need to go check one out, but haven't had time. They are pretty...but so was my first wife, after awhile she didn't sound that great and the whammy didn't whammy very well!

I played a Dinky reverse with two humbuckers at MARS. I just plugged into the first amp I could find with a cord which was a Fender RocPro 700 combo and the Jackson Dinky I played was great. The action was so good that doing Eddie Van Halen stuff was easy. They wanted 400 dollars for it and I thought that was a reasonable price. The guitar sounds more metal than warm classic rock but I still loved the sound. I thought the lead sound on the RocPro sounded real good for a solid state amp with only one tube in the preamp. That little amp is loud as hell and screamed with the Jackson. It would be a good intermediate setup in my book. I play a Richie Sambora strat through a Sovtek Mig 50H going through a Marshall cab. It's more of a 70's classic rock rig that you can get good Hendrix tones and it can get pretty close to Eddie's early tone. The Jackson was much easier to play that my Strat actually.
