This popped up at Youtube a few hours ago. A ballad with a nice lead break at the 3:00 mark.

I'm uncertain, yet the two fellows that posted the music hail from the Netherlands and Madrid, Spain. How they got hold of the material is anyone's guess. http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-confused-smileys-423.gif (http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/)
Great find....
I was getting worried about not knowing the music at the concert next week. Now we have half the album and 30 second clips of the rest - sweet!

Sam sounds really good on this tune.
I can't get over how perfectly all these guys sound together. These guys have more than exceeded my expectations.
Hell, if VH came out with tunes that sounded this good, I would be shouting from the rooftops: "THEY'RE BAAaaAACK."
I want this album to come out yesterday!

I don't know, "Open" was damn good, but perhaps our perception was flawed because of the shit he released around it (Livin' it Up and Cosmic Universal Fashion). Before that, I may agree, "Heroes" was the last REAL good one.
Wow nice tune. Love hearing Mike's harmonies.
For real, man. This song is so fuckin HALEN it ain't funny.

Best as I can figure for the lyrics.
Lost in a sea of memories
Learning to fly again
Morning comes early, ohhhh
Trying to trust these wings
Cause when I fall, I fall deep
When I crawl, I'll come running to you
Now I've gotta sort out these dreams
Feels like watching your life
On a big screen
Morning comes early again
Only to find us - two as one
When I fall, I fall deep
When I crawl, I'll come running to you
(repeat)
Cause I'm falling in circles
Falling down ... on my knees.
(guitar solo)
Once as a child
In my mother's eyes
Oh Lord I swear - felt this way, yeah
Ahhhhhhhhhhh
When I fall, I fall deep
When I crawl, I'll come running to you
Running to you babe

If this album doesn't sell platinum in the US, there's something wrong. It easily stands up against anything from the Hagar era Van Halen years.
Another great song this album going to be awesome

Nice tune. The harmonies really make it. I don't think there is anything wrong with being happy for Mike. I think the majority of us here are very happy the guy is in a great high profile band with good music where he is an equal and appreciated. The CF album is shaping up nice! Now when I see them in a few weeks I'll actually recognize the songs. lol

not a bad song...way better than most of the slower/ballad rock songs out there today. Sammy sounds pretty good...i much prefer when he sings in this range than when he does the shreeky thing.
I'm really starting to look forward to the record more and more as I hear these songs.:thumb:

Wasn't this the song mentioned in the interview where they could so easily have gone the power ballad route? Instead they've made a good soul tune - those bits where a power ballad would continually go for the jugular and become a sacharrine mess have been avoided beautifully here. The second line of the chorus, in days of old, would have had Sammy screaming for the "emotional" note. This track gains in power because he drops down instead of going up.
I do like this tune a lot.
As for Satch? If I was petty I would say to the doubters "see?", but that is ridiculous. I just hope that a new group of fans for the man comes out of this, and I would say that he has shown without question, that he is great band player.
Of the five tracks so far, each one has been a "grower" and the only one that doesn't really hit the spot for me is DTD - it sounds like (as has been revealed to be true) a jam and as a composition I think is the weakest so far.
Of the other four, we've got a great soul song, a serious classic riffarama, a bluesy rock song and an alt-rock one. Pretty good variety for what I imagined would be a fairly one dimensional offering.
I have high hopes for this album to become more than just a cult favourite. If they get just thirty seconds on a nationwide advert (Think "Get it up" on a Nike advert) the exposure should do them very well.
But I wouldn't care if I was the only fan. Great band.

I knew very little of Satch's music before this project came along. I have since gone and gotten several albums by him. The idea that he is not a songwriter is laughable to me. That's seriously a criticism of him? I hear the instrumentals he comes up with and many of them sound like fully realized, fully formed songs, just without words.
The thing that keeps striking me when I hear his music is how great would this song be if a guy like Sammy was singing on it. A lot of the melodic ideas are already there and are begging to be used in a verse, chorus, bridge format of a rock or pop song! I love what he does with them as instrumentals and I'm not complaining that there are no vocals, but what I'm saying is I'm amazed how easily they would translate. Just ask Coldplay ;)
And from hearing the 5 Chickenfoot songs, I think it's a natural adjustment for Satriani to be in the band format. And as prolific as this guy seems to be, I can really see them doing more tunes if the band is at least somewhat successful. I hope so. I'm loving it. Haven't been this excited about a group... well... since VH.

I have most of these Rothies on Ignore anyway, so it's funny to see these pro-Sam threads start to fill up with "This message is hidden because Fuckstick McGillicuddy is on your ignore list".

Not to be a dousche, but I find it funny that Sam seems to be learning to see, learning to fall and apparently learning to fly? Also he stole lyrics from himself again- "When I fall, I fall deep" in this song and in "Deeper kind of Love" he says the same thing. I like the 'Foot and Sam's voice is fantastic but I think the well is running dry. He references dreams for the millionth time as well. I also get the feeling that some of this might be some of his lyrics from the fabled "Between Us Two" that he and Ed were working on in the Humans Being" sessions. It was supposedf to be their Stairway to Heaven. I'm pretty sure there was a lyric of "only to find us-two as one..."
Chef, help me out on this one...
Not to say that Ed doesn't repeat himself incessantly as well. Just being fair as I have ripped Ed for this too.I am also aware most artists tend to have a theme but damn....

This is assuming of course that I transcribed the lyrics correctly. I'm not 100% sure what I heard there.

I had that feeling upon hearing this too. I think you're right. That being said, I'm glad i finally got to hear what Sam had in mind for that song, providing you're indeed correct.

Not bad. Like the haunting guitar riff. Sam sounds good, lyrics okay, a little Freudian (my mother's arms) and dull, but okay. I really like the RESTRAINED guitar at the end. Joe has fine musical sense.
Song's too long, though. Not enough "theme" changes to go on for 5 minutes. Still a good song.

It's growing on me. Absolutely love the beginning of the guitar solo at the 3:00 point. The solo just fits the song so well. Never been a huge Satch fan, but Im really liking what Im hearing so far.

after about 30 secs I had written this song off as a formulaic, paint by numbers ballad, and it is a bit but it grows.
I am not a Sammy fan, but I think he has done a good job on this, both vocally and lyrically. For all the (valid) criticism that Sammy cops for VH ballads, it is what I think he really shines on
