I read that in the Iron Maiden biography.

Iron Maiden covered "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love", and "I've got the fire" , an old Montrose song! Thr latter is confirmed by both the Iron Maiden biography and the Van Halen encyclopedia.

They covered VH and Montrose songs in 1979-1980, just before they got their first record contract.

Amazing. Anyway. I thought it could interest you. http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

I knew that Maiden had done I got the Fire, but I had no idea that they had done any Van Halen material. I'd love to hear it.

Spanish Doc or anyone else, I have Maiden's "I've Got the Fire" on a boot cd. I think it was a B-side, let me know if you want an MP3. Never heard of them doing a VH song, though I guess most bands do lots of covers when they start out.

I abandonned any hope I might ever have of hearing Iron Maiden covering "Ain't talkin' Bout Love" as soon as I read that fact in the biography. http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/frown.gif

This was with their old singer, Paul DiAnno.

Jonathan:

I still have "I've got the fire" on MP3. I don't like it that much. What I would like is the VAN HALEN song!!!
