View Full Version : I am not a BIG fan of SAMMY doing cover Tunes,BUT
If he was to do another one, he should sing In The Air Tonight, by Phill Collins. I think he would do a kick ass on it.It would show case his powerfull vocals.

STEP BACK FROM THAT BONG!
There are enough cover songs out there in the land of today's music scene. WHATEVER HAPPEND TO ORIGINALITY?

This is the worst idea since the "Jump to Conclusions" mat.

Nonpoint deserves to be a lot more popular than they are. but that's neither here nor there.
and I can't even try to imagine this cover idea not being terrible.

Sammy's voice is too powerful for this song. I don't know how he would handle the quiet moments.
It's like the idea of Sammy doing a Pink Floyd cover. Sammy singing 'comfortably numb"... not good.

What's "today's music scene" Eddymon?
Speaking of said "originality" when "covering" a rock song as an anthem...
I heeya that "Mas Tequila" sounds extremely similar to Gary Glitter, no?
So, if say Hagar 'tis being so "original" with creating an anthem for his favorite cause, i.e. Cabo Wabo, why didn't he put a wee bit more effort into it?
You dudes are always raggin' on Dave for coverin' tunes and making them his own but when the round rocker covers a tune (as in Glitter's "Rock and Roll PT.I) but changes the lyrice to be his tequila anthem, 'tis cool, no?
Anyway, I think Hagar would sound brilliant singing any of those poppy Genitals tunes from the 80's. He'd also do unstellar renditions of ANY Michael Bolton tunes. Seriously, their voices are identical. Full of "range" and can hit any note but still sound like someone being tortured.

You mean his screaming or what?

It sounds like it because it is- Hagar credits Glitter on the cd.

big difference, Sammy did use "one" gary glitter song and covered one staples song, Dave's made a career out of doing cover tunes. funny how a guy can use music from someone else and do a cover song that he didn't even put on an album yet and you group him into mr. "it's easier to do a cover song because it was already a hit"
Honestly don't even bring Sam's range into this, it's a joke coming from you. No matter what sam does you hate it, we all get the point. Go pop in DLR band and listen to some real "range"...then go gargle with glass chips and maybe you'll have that range too.

Don't take this as a Sammy rip but if he had some balls he would do this.
Redo these songs with "The Other Half" and release it as an EP or mini-album.

I believe that "Ssudio," or, "One More Night," would be better tunes for Sammy to cover. Mo' hiz style nah.
