Regarding the original thread topic, we probably would've seen some unknown studio cat from the LA area *IF* the '04 tour would have gone without Mike. But there is no way in hell that would have EVER happened as long as Sammy was the singer. I'm actually quite surprised Sam never insisted on bringing Mike into the studio sooner to play on the three BOBW tunes. It was probably a very tentative situation, and making suggestions that would've pissed Ed off would have rocked the boat too much.

VH is so fucking dysfunctional, it's ridiculous.

I really do think that it burned Ed when a lot of fans turned on him in 96 but EVERYBODY loves Mike.

The simple truth is, I don't think he cares that much. I think his sole motivation for doing this tour is because he has included Wolfie in the band. Without Wolfie, I think Ed would just sit home, get drunk, and record more riffs nobody will ever hear.
