You know, I had to chime in on this one now. I was at the chicago show, and yes I felt that there was something lacking from Dave's performance. And that something was MIKEY. People were psyched to see 1/2 of Van Halen during the first set. And I mean Mikey and Sam. I know I was bummed out that Mikey DIDN'T jam with Dave. Mark my words, if Mikey did play, the whole place would have erupted. And I will tell you guys, I would rather see 1/2 of VH than 1/4 of VH. Or was it like 3/5 of VH we had? Who knows Point is, that people felt let down since they had seen Mikey up there sharing the stage with Sammy and not with both Sammy and Dave. I only hope that if Mikey continues to be a "Special Guest" on this tour, he will jam with Dave too, and finish the show with WHO he started with. Start with Sammy, and Finish with Dave. Then you'll have an amazing show.

Nope... sorry! Wanted to go with all my heart, but had my brother's wedding to go to. I'd have found you guys if I'd have been there!

As it was I had to get up at the crack of dawn with a hangover and drive for more then 8 hours to see Dave and Sammy in Indy. Still it was a great show.

Why Pabs! Were ya sad you'd missed me! I'm touched!

Hey, no worries! She ended up missing the Chicago show cuz her dog got really sick. All worked out in the end, and the doggie's doing better... lots of medicine, but much better.

And yes, someone finally woke up and kicked up Dave's vocal partway through the show.

I was out in the middle of the house that night. I bet it sounded better up next to the stage, where you getting more guitar from the amps onstage and more of Dave's vocal from the PA. And I bet it sounded better out on the lawn, where those freakishly amplified low mids from the drums weren't bouncing around inside the venue. The highs and high mids (guitar and vox) are much more directional anyway. So it's a good thing Hain was recording from out on the lawn. I just wish it could have sounded better where I was. That's funny, I have been going to the World Music Theatre for years (Tweeter Center my ass) and I have always found the sound to be lousy, especially on the lawn. I was actually surprised how good the sound was on the lawn for both Dave's and Sammy's sets. Maybe I was in a sweet spot, but both the vocals and the guitars were loud and clear in the mix where I was standing.

Thumbs up

Setlist for this show was the same badass one we've seen every night. Except Sammy dusted off "5150" when Mikey came out. It ruled.

Hain, I'm first on your list for a copy. In fact, Ron Higgins already wrote me to set up a trade for it.

The Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets whatever you want to call them, have NEVER displayed "SOX" anywhere on their caps, jerseys, or merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be referred to as such. However, the White Sox have used "SOX" since 1912.

The SOX are in Chicago...we just allow the Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets to use the name.

I had a great time at this show, my second Sammy show and overall concert. Great show, I really had fun that night. I am more of a Dave fan, but Sammy blew him away that night. Dave still put on a good show, though...
