I think Sammy's definition of "superstar" is probably different from that of most people.

There is no way a "superstar" guitarist is going to agree to be "hired" by Sammy Hagar to play on a Hagar solo tour. At least not by any reasonable definition of "superstar."

It Sam/Wabos/Mike tour with Extreme it will be Nuno and I'm sure he would qualify as a superstar in Sam's eyes. Sam is a businessman he probably uses the word a little more freely than some fans.

Wow more than a year ago it was pretty much announced that Satch was the guitar player!

Unbelievable! It still blows my mind seeing Sam and Joe up on stage together! He was the only guy I had in mind for the gig. I think I might have even posted somewhere that Satriani was the guy I'd most like to see play with Sam and Mike.

But Sam and Joe?!?!? What a combo. Then Mike and Chad as well?!?!?....Are you kidding me?!?!?

I'm so glad this turned out to be what it is and not what we were all thinking about last year. Back then the general sentiment was that Sam was hiring a "superstar" to do some sort of anthology tour where they played his old hits. In that context I didn't see Satriani or any of the other guys we were talking about coming on board for that. Why?

The fact that this turned out to be hagar getting with satriani on a new album...well that's totally different.

Sammy really delivered with getting Satriani. He is definately a superstar guitarist. I was worried a bit it would be a country guitarist, Since he was hanging out with a few in recent years. I don't like country music.
